You Probably Think I'm Joking

The Mets are currently leading their game 7-2. I am not kidding. The B-Mets are winning.

I just wanted to try to humor you.

Put Me In Coach!

Mike Nickeas is starting as catcher tonight for the B-Mets. One commenter that I will not name suggested giving up on him. I will never give up on him though. I mean, even if he doesn't ever make it to the Mets he is still somebody else to follow when the Mets aren't playing well. And he started the season in AAA so the Mets must see something in him. I know he is known as more of a catcher for defense and handling a pitching staff so as long as he can do that somebody will find a use for him. I just want him to keep playing and once he stops I will figure out what to do.

But for now... Let's Go Mike!

and seeing the way the Mets are playing tonight, I really need him!

and if you go to this photo gallery Mike is in the first picture. YAY!

Na Na Na Poo Poo, Perez Beat You!

Well the Mets won bragging rights in New York, so I had to. Perez was absolutely dominant as he usually is against the Yankees. At points it looked like he was about to lose concentration the way he often does but that didn't happen. He looked locked in today and gave up one run and absolutely no walks. He didn't lose anything with the brief but strong rainfall and he just looked very good in the outing today. But the Mets offense did not get many hits with runners in scoring position. Castillio got an infield single and Delgado hit a homer. The Mets had 12 hits and 3 runs. But they came away with a win and that is what matters.

They start a 4 game series with St. Louis tomorrow night with John Maine on the mound against Kyle Lohse.

Let's Go Mets!

About the game...

I am finally posting about the game, so here it is:

I got there just as the Mets were coming off the field from batting practice.  I was bummed that I missed that but the events of the game were enough to make up for that.  At the beginning of the game the Mets took the lead and it felt good to be one of only a few Mets fans around.  But it got really annoying when Yankee fans would cheer for absolutely EVERYTHING that went against the Mets.  (But that's who they are).  And when the Mets took the lead and then gave it back a couple of times it was really bad.  But starting in the fifth inning the game got really fun.  After Delgado got the bases clearing double the Yankee fan sitting next to me said that the 2 run lead that the Mets had would not be enough for the bullpen to hold.  Little did he know, the Mets weren't done.  In the fifth inning something happened that people do not get to see on tv.  The stadium had finally quieted down after the Delgado grand slam but that didn't last long.  Some bozo ran onto the field into center field during Trot Nixon's at bat.  Security caught him finally and faceplanted him into the ground to let him eat some dirt.  But that only lasted for a short time.  And the Mets kept pouring on runs and the guy sitting next to me finally left.

For the first few innings the most interesting thing in the stadium was possibly a squirrel.  I first noticed it during pregame stretching in short left field with the Mets. It ran around the warning track multiple times and went into the Mets dugout a few times as well.  At one point it looked like the grounds crew caught it but it appeared later in the game.  It kinda reminded me of the weasel in Ned's Declassified.  The field really became a zoo as birds landed on it.  There was one that was on the line near first base and Fernando Tatis flinched to try to scare it but it didn't work.  Then the bird made its way to Jose Reyes who had fun being distracted by it.

I stayed until the end of the game and moved down to field level to watch the last inning.  I took some pics of the Mets shaking hands after the game.

Let's Go Mets!

I Really Miss You!

I am looking forward to having this pretty face back in the lineup soon:

This One Really Hurts

I swear, the umpires of Major League Baseball are out to get the Mets.  It has gone on all year with the bad calls.  It started in the first series of the year when Carlos Beltran was denied the homer in Florida.  Since then, I can remember Beltran being robbed of another homer and I am pretty sure Delgado has been too.  (I know I don't have a very good memory).  But the thing is they have been hosed on many plays as well as their pitchers being squeezed.  Today Johan was thrown off when he was sqeezed during a Derek Jeter at bat.  The Mets also got a bad call on a tag play at first base.  Today the umps were even sitting in the dugout with the Yankees during the rain delay!

I want the MLB to get all brand new umpires NOW!

Obviously, the game recap for yesterday will have to wait.

Yeah, Well

I went to the first game yesterday and had A LOT of fun.  I am kinda tired now because I went right from the game to another graduation party and I had to do something in the city this morning.  I'll have a post about the game later.

Let's Go Mets!

Oh yeah, Mike went 0-for-3 last night in the B-Mets' loss.

This Made Me LOL!

From Surfing the Mets:
Church said that he feels no lingering effects from the concussions suffered March 1 and May 20, save for when his wife asks him to help around the house. When that happens, Church becomes suddenly weak and unable to complete even the most simple task.

Let's Go Ryan!
...and Mets!

You Go Girl!

This is a really great post on the blog We've Go Heart. I know I am only 14 so I really have no idea what is going on the great big world out there but I do know that plenty of guys think girls are idiots when it comes to sports. I see it at school. The boys come up to me and give me Mets trivia and it feels so good to answer all of their questions correctly. They are afraid to admit it but, I know just as much, if not more, baseball trivia than they do. I think people have just gotten used to the boys being into sports and the girls being into make up and fashion.
So just read the post. I MEAN IT!

Oh yeah, the Mets rule!

This Is For Xavier

I really miss Xavier Nady more than any other player that has ever left the Mets. He was with the team for a very short amount of time but he left a huge impact on the fans and I have read in multiple places that the players enjoyed having him around. I would be the happiest person in the world if the Mets found a way to bring him back while keeping Mike Pelfrey, Joe Smith, and Mike Nickeas. I know the Mets don't necessarily have the trade bait to get him away from the Pirates but a girl can dream.

It would be such a plus to add him to the Mets!

He Can Talk!

I found an article a few minutes ago and it has some quotes from my "boyfriend". I just wanted to point it out.

YAY!

Michael Cuddyer is a daddy!

(it's on the second page of the article)

I Wish I Wasn't So Confused!

The Mets look like they are the most dead team in the history of baseball for a few days and then they come back and play like they are the most professional team in the bigs. I would have felt better about this win if the Mets had added more runs after the third inning. There were a lot of positives in this game including my one and only David's two homers and John Maine putting up a much needed good pitching performance. I will be at the afternoon game on Friday to see my man Mike pitch. (I ended up not going to Boston because my dad had too much work).

My other man Mike Nickeas went 0-for-2 tonight with a walk and he also got an RBI, although I am not exactly sure how. The B-Mets won. YAY!

I have the link to this video and it really brings back memories. When I clicked on the link for the video to Tearin' Up My Heart the message on the top of the page said "This video is not available in your country". LOL!

Kinda weird video but I really like this song and I haven't heard it in a while.

I'm Not In The Mood

I am really not in the mood to post anything. The Mets haven't been playing well and they are really driving me nuts. I have other stuff to say but I am not really in the mood. Carlos and Jerry didn't deserve what they got. Nothing else to say.

To Lighten the Mood

Mike Nickeas played tonight. But he got an 0-fer.

I guess that didn't work.

I Must Be Dreaming A.K.A I Need To Vent

This game has been a nightmare for the Mets. The umpires hate them. I swear. The homeplate ump provoked Manuel and Beltran. He pushed Jerry and that sent him on fire. With Beltran, the ump went in front of the plate and started wiping it off to make it look like he wasn't doing anything wrong but all the while he continued to talk to Carlos. Something has to be done about that umpire.

Also, the Mets have had 2 foul balls that have been the oddest I have seen. One of them was during a Perez at bat. He was squaring up to bunt and it looked like it hit him but the HOMEPLATE UMP called it a foul ball. In a Fernando Tatis at bat the pitch went over his head but it hit off of the bat so that was a foul ball. But they are just odd to see in the same game.

Oh yeah, the same HOMEPLATE UMP just f***ed up a half-swing from Jose Reyes.

Brian Runge I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Okay David, I Still Love You

Even after Johan Santana gave up the grand salami to the opposing pitcher I still loved David Wright. I know it was technically his fault that any of that happened but I don't care. He has played more than anybody else this year so he is bound to make some mistakes. I was glad to see Carlos Beltran being aggressive. Although he is probably public enemy #1 in Seattle right now. There was nothing dirty about that play and sometimes people just have bad luck. Johan has had bad luck because he never gets any run support when he pitches. And Felix Hernandez happened to have bad luck on that play.

The only other thing I have to say is that hopefully you know who will pitch well tonight.
The Mets need it.

The Riddle

This is a really great song.

What else am I supposed to call this post? I am so bored so I figured typing this would kill a few minutes of my life. There is seriously NOTHING to do. And it will probably be this way tomorrow as well. I have 2 more finals. One is tomorrow morning and the other is Wednesday morning. But the thing is that I am going to Boston on Wednesday. Well, actually I am going to see UConn and other colleges for College hunting for my sister. I am hoping I will be able to see the Red Sox on Wednesday night so something interesting will come out of this trip.

Talk to ya later.

I Really Should Think Of A More Creative Title...

...but I don't want to.

The Mets won another series and they have won their last 3 series. Each one they have won the first and third games. Although that means they haven't gone on any winning streak it also means they don't get down after a loss. That is something that cannot happen. They used to win a few games and then get blown out in the next game. That would kinda take the air outta them and they would go on a prolonged losing streak. Now they win a game and they feel good about themselves. Even if they lose the next game I feel like they know they are going back out there tomorrow and they have another chance to win. This is the resiliancy they have shown in the past week. I mean, I know from this team that a week hasn't proved anything but I like the way they are playing. They haven't played sloppy baseball. Sometimes they lose focus and bad things happen. But they haven't lost focus completely. For one thing, Jose Reyes looks more locked in than he has at any other point this season. He has led off the last two games with triples and he is scoring Reyes runs the way he should. Another thing is that Carlos Beltran has been hitting the ball well for a substantial part of the season. I have noticed he has just been hitting into tough luck and today it was like his monster home run into the second deck used all the power he has had this year. David Wright hasn't been playing up to the level that he is normally at. But part of that could be contributed to how much he has played. He has played every game this season and he has said that when he feels like he isn't contributing because of fatigue he will take himself out of the lineup. Carlos Delgado is being Carlos Delgado (I have to remember to write something about him, this is a reminder) and he looks like he might be heating up but I have learned he looks like that a lot and then nothing really happens. Luis Castillo has done more than I expected but that is what happens when you expect nothing from a person. Other than that the Mets outfield has been completely confused and Brian Schneider has been a rock behind the plate while doing enough at the plate. The Mets starting pitching has stepped up except for you know who (and he even has a winning record) and the bullpen has mostly be reliable.

"Boyfriend" Watch: Today Mike went 1-for-4 with a homer (yay!) and a strikeout (boo!). His batting average in AA is .375.

The Mets start their series against the Mariners tomorrow night with Johan on the mound.

Good News!

I know you are probably thinking that there is no good news that could come out of yesterday. But this has nothing to do with the Mets and their horrifically boring game from last night.

Paul Hamm has been given a spot in the Olympic roster for this summer. I just wanted to post this because he is really hot. The only thing I remember about the last summer Olympics is how hot my sister, mom, and I thought he was.

Now I'm Mad

Update 9:27-
Time to break out the Backstreet Boys

I just looked at the boxscore for the B-Mets game that is going on right now. Guess what? Mike Nickeas isn't playing. Manriquez is catching instead. What does Mike have to do to play everyday?!

Also, I am watching the Mets pregame and it is like SNY is using their B crew. Chris Cotter is doing the pregame and Jonas Schwartz is doing Kevin's job. I guess Kevin is getting a day off but I miss him already.

Let's Go Mets!

Oh yeah, FYI, David Wright is really cute!

YAY!

I just got a laptop so I think I will be able to post during games if I have something to say about what is happening. I have to put pics of my guys on 'cuz right now I only have a picture of Joe Smith and that is my desktop background.

Let's Go Mets!

They All Won!

Every team I root for because of some reason or another won yesterday. The Pirates won 1-0, the Indians won 6-4, the Padres won 6-2, the Phillies lost 7-1 (that counts as a win for me) and of course, the Mets won 7-2. Oh yeah, the B-Mets won 3-1 over Trenton. And guess who went 2-for-4 with a run scored. If you guessed Mike Nickeas you earned yourself a hundred gazillion points!

I didn't see much of the Mets game because I was with my friends watching Camp Rock and signing yearbooks. I followed some of the game on my phone and I think I should be the ESPN MVP of the party. The Mets have been playing well lately and I want them to keep up the good work.

I just wanted to post a link to an awesome Jake Peavy video interview from ESPN.

That Was Better

Jerry got his first win as manager last night....or morning depending on where you are.  No name Perez blew an early lead but the Mets got through this one with a win.  It was nice that David came through in the ninth against K-Rod and Damion Easley always seems to come up when the Mets need him the most.  The bullpen was outstanding by pitching 4 scoreless innings and keeping the Mets in the game.  One of those people keeping the game close was Joe Smith so the rest of the post is about him.

Yesterday before the game started, SNY showed him with a pink backpack worn by the least experienced member of the pitching staff, usually in the bullpen.

I don't think he was smiling like this when he saw the backpack:

Okay, so that is a half smile, but he has the cutest smile ever:

He also possibly has the worst golf swing ever:

But he looks so cute in this picture:

He also looks a whole lot younger than everybody else in the picture.

That Didn't Go As Planned

Jerry Manuel didn't win last night and I was really hoping he would.  But I did like his actions taken with Jose Reyes in the first inning.  He saw that something was wrong with one of the key players and didn't want to risk anything happening to him.  So he took him out of the game.  Sometimes I find it hard to believe that Jose Reyes is 25 years old because he really acts like he is 5 sometimes.  Last night he was obviously upset about coming  out of the game and did what any five year old would do, throw his helmet in disgust and storm away.  I also like the way Jerry went to the clubhouse to talk to Reyes between half innings.  What made that even better was that Jerry didn't come back until the half inning had already started and that showed he really cared about the players' actions.  But in the end the Mets played sloppy baseball and made 3 errors which made them all look like 5 year olds.

You know who Perez is pitching tonight
...So I will give you something nice to look at so you won't be too depressed.

HEY LOOK!

This time I mean it! I found 3 new pics of my "boyfriend" just moments ago. I know they are not the best but I am glad I found more pics!

Let's Go Mike!
...I think I will have more success rooting for you than I will rooting for the Mets.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I couldn't think of a title for this one so instead I did that.

But that is not what this post is about.

I like Jerry Manuel and I find his press conference a lot more entertaining than Omar's. He seems like he has a good personality and is ready to take this team and make it a winner.

Well, that's really all I had to say.

Let's Go Mets!

I Didn't Mean THAT Kind Of Magic!

Last night I was playing with my Mickey Mouse stuffed toy and I asked (yes, I spoke to him) if he could use his Disney magic and help the Mets.  When I said that I didn't know it would turn out the way it did.  The Mets needed to make a change and they did.  But they didn't make it the right way and I think we all know that.  I am not sure how I feel about the loss of Willie.  I liked him as a person but questioned some of his managerial decisions.  He didn't deserve this treatment.  Nobody deserves the treatment he got.  I am worried about some of the pitchers without Rick Peterson, namely Poo Poo (x150) Perez.  I feel like he is going to look for a bunch of funky deliveries without Peterson watching over him like a hawk.  I don't know why or why not Tom Nieto would or would not be fired.  He was the first base coach and I don't know how much he affected the team.  I really hope Omar and the Wilpons are embarrassed at the way this was handled because they should be.

In other news:
Mike Pelfrey finally got a win.  This time he gave up six runs and he is unable to get a win while giving up 2 or less runs.

Also, Raul Casanova is back with New Orleans and that means Mike won't get as much playing time.   Boo hoo.

I'm Just Saying

I was thinking about this at school today and I think National League pitchers are better conditioned than American League pitchers.  I mean, I am sure all pitchers are amazing athletes but NL pitchers have to prepare for all aspects of the game.  That includes batting and running the bases.  In the Yankee game Chien-Ming Wang injured his foot while running the bases and he will be out for a signifigant amount of time.  Who knows if this injury would have been prevented by not playing in a NL park and not running the bases.  I am just saying that NL pitches are ready to run the bases every time they pitch and pitching in an AL park might be somewhat of a rest for them.

I am just saying.

Hey Look!

Yeah.  There isn't really anything to look at.  I am sick of the Willie Randolph saga and I want it to end as soon as possible.  I am glad the Mets took the series from the Rangers.  Now, of course, they are back in California.  They will play the Angels and Rockies and then they are done with west coast road trips.  That is good so I will be able to watch games over the summer.  I don't go to sleep away because well, I have never been a fan of being away from home for that long.  Yesterday it was good to see the Mets fight back in the first game.  It was good in the second game to see Billy Wagner come in and not give up any runs.  I am happy with the series win and let's hope the Mets can keep up the good play and win some games on the road trip.

Mike went 0-for-4 last night and is now batting .229.  I am okay with that because he is not known to be an offensive catcher and as long as he is getting playing time I will be happy.

Let's Go Mets!
...Mikey P. is pitching tonight!

Slip & Slide

Last night Ian Kinsler and some of the other Rangers were tarp sliding at Shea during the rain delay.  Ian Kinsler is very cute and he is Jewish so my dad likes him too.  Update: All my hopes and dreams were just shattered.  He's married.

Mike hit a grand salami last night and the Zephyrs won.  A recap hasn't been posted on the Zephyrs website so instead I will show you what my Gmail Alert looked like:

I Like Mike / Ouch!

My "boyfriend" just hit a grand slam for his second homer of the season. I guess I celebrated a little too much because when I did a fist pump I hurt myself.
I know, I find ways to hurt myself nobody else could possibly imagine.

Also, the Mets will play a single admission double header tomorrow.

Oh Joe!

From Surfing the Mets:

Joe Smith, two years removed from a visit to Shea, when he tagged along with Chad Bradford like a lost child after getting drafted in the third round in 2006, was the victim of a prank from John Maine during a similar visit from this year's high picks.

Maine instructed UNC-Wilmington product Brad Holt, a righthanded pitcher, to approach Smith and say, “You the righthanded specialist? I’m going to take your job.”

At the time, Bradford, for whatever reason, had been rubbed the wrong way by Smith. So Smith's teammates have been giving him a hard time for a while about it.

Joe truly is the cutest!

Not Bad, Not Bad At All

The Mets finally had a nice all around win.  (I will not put any first name) Perez pitched well and this time the Mets bullpen actually held the lead.  The bats looked solid and David didn't look as depressed today.  I also enjoyed watching Ian Kinsler and Jarrod Saltalamacchia (yes that is spelled correctly) because they are quite pleasant looking.  I hope the Mets have more games like this one because they really need it and Willie really needs it.  I know I haven't been a fan of Willie recently but I really just want the Mets to win.  If they win with Willie, fine.  If they win without him, fine.  I just want them to start winning!

Mike Nickeas caught for the Zephyrs in their 5-3 win.  He went 1-for-3 with a double, a run, a strikeout, and a sacrifice.  He raised his batting average to .237.  The bad news is that with the Mets trade for Trot Nixon that Robinson Cancel is likely to go back to New Orleans and Mike won't get as much playing time.

I Knew It Was Coming

Moises Alou has been put back on the DL. I told my dad he would have less than 50 at-bats before he went back on it. And I was right! Robinson Cancel was called up to replace him.

That means my favorite minor league catcher will get more playing time. YAY!

Let's Go Mets!

This Is Really Wearing On Me

The Mets are killing me.  I keep hoping whatever series they are playing will be over because I think they have a chance of turning it around in the next series.  But that next series never seems to come and who knows if it ever will come.  The front office has to make a decision on Willie because nothing is going to happen if they just keep his job "twisting in the wind" they way they are.  The players need motivation and a shakeup could give them that.

Also, David looked really mad after he popped out with the bases loaded yesterday.  He has been struggling lately and has seemed really frustrated.  I want him to do better and it hurts me to see him so upset.

Here is the link to the Father's Day story for the Mets.  It is about Brian Schneider and his dad.  I enjoyed it and I have been a fan of Brian since he got here.

Thank Goodness

The internet and cable has been out at my house and in my neighborhood all day and I just got it back. The Mets lost again. I really need them to start winning because boys at school are starting to make fun of me and I can't have that distraction right before finals. BTW, finals are starting next week so my posts might not be as interesting in the next couple of weeks. But I really hate the way the Mets are playing right now. Enough said. Some change has to come or this team will continue to play the way they are. Nobody seems to be able to stay healthy. Moises Alou looks like he is going back on the DL. I guess I was right and my dad was wrong when I told him Moises would have less than 50 at-bats before going back on the DL. So basically, the Mets need to get healthy and start playing with feeling.

Mike Nickeas went 0-for-3 with a strikeout and a walk and is currently batting .234. The Zephyrs lost.

The Mets are currently playing but I don't really want to say anything about what is going on.

If You Don't Think He's Cute You Don't Have A Life

Release Him To The Wild

I mean Willie.  Something big has to happen for the Mets to start winning again.  The players are not going to listen to Willie Randolph and that means somebody else has to come in.  Willie has shown that he can't handle a team that doesn't have the "perfect" players on it.  This year the Mets have a bunch of old and mediocre players.  In 2006 the Mets had players that all seemed to be at the top if their game.  Willie worked well with them and they always played the best they could.  This year the team needs something or someone to drive them.  They don't have that and they are not going to get that with Willie.  I don't have any ideas for possible managers but I know the manager will have to have fire and passion.  Willie never looks frustrated in the dugout.  He always clapping and he always seems to think "it's okay, we'll get 'em next time".  That doesn't work.  I would appreciate it if he occasionally looked upset when Aaron Heilman gives up a two-run game losing double.  Somebody has to knock some sense into this team and I don't care how it is done.  If it means firing Willie I am all for it.

Let's Go Mets!

Finally!

The Mets have placed Ryan Church on the 15 DL.

THANK YOU!

Hot Hot Hot

It is really hot out today.  I am glad the Mets have the day off so they can clear their heads.  They need it.

Schools was torture today because of the heat.  I might have a half day tomorrow but knowing my school I won't.

Mike went 2-for-3 yesterday and is now batting .230.  Niiiiiiiiice.

Not much else to say.

Let's Go Mets!

P.S.
At school today we got the graphing calculators that we will use for the Regents.  With mine I wrote 'Ellie and Michael James Nickeas'.  LOL!
Now, he is hot!

First: Alex Gordon!

He gets 2 pictures because he is just that cool!

Next is David DeJesus:

And there is Mark Teahen as well:

Mark Grudzielanek makes you feel illiterate:

And Brian Bannister looked cuter as a Met:

I hope I just enlightened your day.

Come on Royals!  Beat the crap out of the Yankees today!

It's Like Deja Vu All Over Again

I have given up on the song lyrics because they are driving me nuts.

If you want to know what happened in the Mets game you can read any of the other posts about the series.

My "boyfriend" went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a strikeout as well as a sacrifice bunt and is now batting .230.  YAY!  The Zephyrs won 3-2 in ten innings and Jose Valentin (YES, that one) got the game winning hit.
I will actually be able to watch the Mets game today!

This Person Is A Genius!

Excuse my break from the song lyrics.

This is a comment by The Glider on MetsBlog.com:

Omar better start doing the mambo and get us some players.

I want Delgado bought out; I want a first baseman who can hit; I want Xavier Nady; and I want the Mets to go on a 12 game winning streak.

WOW!

"You Tell Me You Always Know The Perfect Thing To Say"

The Mets have lJt 2 in a row and have stopped hitting.  David hit a ball hard and it went 390 feet but they were in PETCO Park so it was an out.  Johan Santana got hit by a pitch and the ump CALLED IT A STRIKE!  He was trying to bunt and the ump said he offered at it.  I understand that the ump cannot choose who he is going to give what call to.  But this is the ACE OF THE PITCHING STAFF!  More experienced pitchers get a bigger strike zone so why can't he give Johan first base for Pete's sake?!  And in the next inning he was out there he gave up 2 runs.  I am really upset about that call, if you catch my drift.

And to make matters worse, you know who is pitching tonight.  Maybe he will have a longer outing this time.

My "boyfriend" went 0-for-4 in the win by the Zephyrs last night.  He struck out and left 2 runners in scoring position with 2 outs.  Mike is batting only .214.  OUCH!

"Sorry I'm Letting Down Everyone"

The Mets bats really let down Mike last night.  It seems like whenever he pitches the Mets lose their ability to score runs.  This is not helping him.  His ERA continues to lower but his win-loss record is the one suffering.  He is currently 2-6 and I can think of some games that he could have won.  Last night was one of them.  The game against the Reds was another.  He took a no-hitter deep into the game against the Reds and lost 1-0.  I don't know what it is but the Mets bats look dead when he takes the mound.  I was hoping the Mets could at least win the game but Scott Schoeneweis had a rare (for this year) bad outing and the Mets lost.

Mike Nickeas caught for the Zephyrs last night.  They lost and he went 0-for-3 with 2 strikeouts and is only batting .225.  UGH!  It seems like he is their only catcher right now because the Met have Robinson Cancel because Raul Casanova went home because his father passed away.  Also, Gustavo Molina was hit by a pitch and there hasn't been anything from him since.  I am glad my "boyfriend" has been getting more playing time lately.

Notes:
  • I will be able to watch Alex play this weekend against the Yankees.  YAY!
  • Jacoby Ellsbury left the Red Sox game yesterday after a diving catch in which he injured his wrist.  UGH!

Meet the Mets!

Mr. Met wants YOU to vote for him!

"I Won't Fall Apart Again"

I am really getting sick of the song lyrics.

The Mets won!  YAY!  I am glad they are playing better.  John Maine had another solid outing.  If the Mets never got Johan then I think John would be our ace.  Jose looks locked in at the plate.  He hit another homer yesterday and I don't always like when he hits the ball in the air but when he is going the way he is his at-bats always seem to work out.  Carlos Beltran continued to hit the ball hard and got a double off the glove of Aaron Rowand (grr.)  I don't like Aaron.  That play is perfect to prove baseball is a game of inches.  But I also think baseball is a game of hotdogs.  I have the Brewers' sausage race to prove that!  It is nice when the offense and pitching is clicking.  Also, Duaner has had 2 at-bats this year.  He batted yesterday and in that extra inning game won by the Tatis double.  I am glad I could actually watch this game since it was a day game.

Mike Pelfrey is starting tonight.  Maybe I will stay up and do my French project to watch!

"And I Will Take You There And Back Again"

I don't have much time but I am happy the Mets won yesterday.  Mike Nickeas went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the Zephyrs' win last night.  Hopefully I will have more time later to post more.

"Omigod Omigod You Guys!"

Mets win!  Zephyrs win!  I eat cake!  (the cake was for my mom's b-day)  So overall yesterday was a pretty good day for me.  My "boyfriend" went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a walk so he is now batting .247.  I put the game on GAMEDAY last night and followed one of his at-bats.  He grounded into a fielder's choice but David Newhan (sound familiar?) couldn't make the play.  I hope he continues to get playing time.

As for the Mets, last night's game was really enjoyable.  I am just bummed that I won't be able to watch many of the games this week because they are in California and they start too late.  Johan pitched very well to get his 100th career win.  Ryan Church returned and hit another homer.  He has 10 and David has 11 so they are fighting it out for the team lead.

Come on Mets!  Keep up the good work!
