Are the Indians Making a Run at the Royals or is this a Sign of Things to Come?

Mark DeRosa was traded to the Indians. He joins Joe Smith and Grady Sizemore on the team. Earlier I named the Royals the hottest team in the MLB but the Indians are starting to catch up.

I just hope this doesn't help the Cubs acquire Jake Peavy.

"A Shadow Past, A Shadow Past"

Chad Pennington won another Comeback Player Of The Year award. YAY! Hopefully he can bring the Dolphins all the way back and give 2009 a good start.

I Wish I Could Post This

But I think it would turn my blog into a not G-rated or PG-rated blog. I mean, I would think Spring Awakening is pretty PG-13 or maybe higher. But, it's really good. Like amazing. And Hunter Parrish is gorgeous.

Well, there is this one song from SA that I have been listening to since this afternoon. But I guess you'll never know which one.

Nothing Is Happening, Thank Goodness

Apparently there haven't been many talks between the Mets and Dodgers about Andruw Jones. Phew! I really thought Omar had completely lost it but I guess he still has some sanity left.

More to come...
Let's Go Mets!

jfjcvj gvsdfcgyu kiylnyub!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other words, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING OMAR???!!!!!

Apparently the Mets are talking to the Dodgers about Andruw Jones. Not only does he spell his name the wrong way, he also flat out sucks at hitting. Oh yeah, he also was the face of the Braves for like forever. Not that any of that would matter. He would take over right field and that means Ryan Church would either be traded or move to left field.

This could get ugly. But, I don't think anything will come of these rumors.

They "collapsed" too!

The Denver Broncos have just lost to the San Diego Chargers and therefore have missed the postseason. They became the first team to miss the playoffs with a 3 game lead with 3 games to play. I guess all of us Mets fans can counsel the Denver fans. It is going to be a long offseason for them but I am sure they will get through it. I mean, they aren't in one of the media capitals of the COUNTRY!

Now, if the Superbowl ended up as Dolphins vs. (well, I don't really know but I just want somebody against the Dolphins) it will be a successful football season for me (and Chad Pennington)

Take that Brett Fah-veh-re!

Why Are They All Naming Their Kids Wyatt?

I mean, it's a cute name, and I first heard the name from the show Charmed (and that is still what I think of when I hear the name) but I knew Jake Peavy had a son named Wyatt and from the MLB.com holiday Q&A's I have found out Clint Barmes and Nate Robertson also have sons named Wyatt.

Buuuuuttttt, I liked the interviews of Mike Pelfrey, Ian Kinsler, Joe Nathan (I can't wait to see Michael Cuddyer in the booth), and Andre Ethier.

Merry Christmas! I am excited for tomorrow because I get to spend my Christmas seeing Spring Awakening! YAY!

Click Here To Vote Offseason 08-09 As The Worst Ever

First the Mets trade Joe, then the Yankees sign 2 pitchers to brag about and now they have Mark Teixeira. I am going to try not to implode with this news. Moving to Cleveland doesn't seem so bad right now.

Let's Go David Cook!

USA! USA!

Grady Sizemore already confirmed he will play for team USA in the World Baseball Classic and now David Wright is going to be the starting 3rd baseman.

USA! USA!

As Long As He Likes It

According to this interview Joe Smith is looking forward to pitching for the Tribe. I just want him to be happy but I am sure he would have enjoyed Mike Pelfrey as Santa Claus.

FuzzyDuck! There's A Lot More Pictures!

I didn't actually say fuzzyduck when I saw that, I said another word that starts with f and ends with uck.

I went to Mike Nickeas' NYFS profile and found about a gazillion more pics. Well, now I have to look at them and find my favorites.

It's A Love-Hate Relationship

Chanukah started tonight and I got the Sims 2 with 2 expansion packs. I really like playing the Sims but sometimes it gets so frustrating and then I hate the game for a while. But then it gets really addicting and I play it again. But tonight when I was playing everybody went upstairs and then I couldn't get the adults to go downstairs. I eventually moved the family to another house. But I think I will probably spend a good chunk of tomorrow playing.

I don't have anything to say about baseball. Nothing has happened. It's the offseason and I'm completely bored (even though the Mets made 2 big moves).

This is the Best I Could Do

I found 3 links (1,2,3) that have Mike Pelfrey as Santa Claus. Two of them have the same pic but the other has a short clip of him talking about the bullpen. I am hoping the Mets will put up a photo gallery on their website but I am not sure. I also found an article from MLB.com that talks a little bit about Joe Smith and the fact he was close with Mike Pelfrey and John Maine.

Let's Go Mets!

I NEED PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently today Mike Pelfrey was Santa Clause for the Mets charity holiday party. UMMmm... I NEED to see this. So, now I will go look for some way to see Mikey Claus.

GRRRRRRRR!

I was going to name this post 'URGGGGGGG!' but then my dirty mind caught up with me.

I want this week to be over so I can have 2 weeks of joy and no school. It's only Tuesday but I want it to be Thursday! Buuuut, today I got my Secret Snowflake (aka Santa but we needed something that could represent all the holidays) present at school. I got a big box of candy and a Mr. Met stuffed animal.

It was a nice change and it was nice because I have a test/quiz EVERYDAY this week.

The Mets are going to introduce K-Rod tomorrow and ** Putz on Thursday. I certainly don't want to pay any attention to the second introduction. Maybe the Indians will introduce Joe Smith, I would like that. I am worried about both of these pitchers because K-Rod looks like he could be injured any second with his motion and ** Putz has already been injured. Also, the Mets tend to attract injuries.

Speeking of injuries, the Mets really need to do something about 2nd base. I will protest Luis CastiUGH! if he is still the starter next season. By that I mean I will change the channel every time he is at bat. Anything would be an upgrade over him. I really don't care if they can't hit but if they at least get out by hitting some balls to the outfield that would be an upgrade. Being able to field would also be a plus.

The Mets still have a lot of work to do but they have done a lot of work already.

Well, There Goes That

The Mets traded Scott Schoeneweis to the D-Backs for Conor Robertson. It was nice having Jewish players on the Mets while it lasted.

Wow, that's depressing. I was just about to mention how I still love Joe Smith and how he can be the honorary Mets Jew, but he's on the Indians.

UGH!

*GAG*

The Yankees signed AJ Burnett today. So basically I'll be living with "the Yankees are so much better than the Mets, they got 2 really good starting pitchers and the Mets only got 1 last year." Hearing that from my brother and sister forever is not going to be fun. I mean, I know I did that to them with Johan but there are 2 of them and one of me so I had to do something.

Last night I was thinking about the trade that the Mets could make with the Cubs. It would send Scott Schoeneweis to Chicago for Jason Marquis. At first I didn't like it because it would trade the Mets last Jewish player. Then I remembered Jason Marquis is Jewish. Whoops!

My Life Is Officially Over

Have fun with Grady. I really don't know how I feel about this.

Oh yeah, PRETTY CRAPPY!

Goodbye Omar

I will never applaud you for anything else ever again. JJ Putz will never be cheered on by me.

I Can't Go Through This Again

There are rumors of a three team trade that would bring JJ Putz to New York and involve Franklin Gutierrez of the Indians and some Mets players including Aaron Heilman. Another Mets player included would be Joe Smith. If he were to leave I would never forgive Omar. I would never be able to watch a Mets game and root for JJ Putz. I don't really know what I would do.

I love you Joe

here's a link

I DO NOT LIKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM!

whoops! That's supposed to say, I DO NOT LIKE LUIS CASTILLO. But green eggs and ham sounds a lot like Luis Castillo so it is easy to get them mixed up.

I just read about K-Rod's uni # predicament. I think it would be cool if he wore 97 or something like that. But it's up to him and maybe he should just pick out of a hat.

Now it's time for homework.

Homework is Unnecessary

I probably would have had a post up earlier but I have this thing called homework. I'm not really a fan of it and I hear a lot of students around the world have it too.

I am not really sure of what to think about the K-Rod signing. Just like any other fan I am excited but I am also kind of worried. The Mets tend to attract injuries and K-Rod looks like an injury waiting to happen. I will be the happiest person in the world if he even performs half as well as he did last year but I can also say I told ya so if he gets injured. The best thing for the Mets would be to get a reliable set-up man that can fill in the closers role if needed. I don't mean somebody untested in closing games, I want somebody that has experience and won't be new to the 9th inning. It is a lot to ask of a team that just signed a major closer but I would love, in more ways than one, if the Mets somehow traded for Huston Street. He was a closer with Oakland and has had some rocky (hahaha) times but he would definitely help the bullpen.

If the Mets can do that and sign Jon Garland I will be a happy Mets fan.

Pitching is just one area that needs work but nobody can do everything at once.

Let's Go Mets!

p.s.
I wonder what number K-Rod will wear with Johan already OWNING #57

I Am Just In A Mood To Bash Omar

so I have to do this...

Tomorrow the Rule V draft starts and Mike Nickeas is not protected. I know he isn't very good but some team could want him. And that would mean another one of my favorites has left.

If Mike Nickeas is picked up I will forever bash Omar for that and trading Xavier.

The Hot Stove Is Finally Heating Up

Well, it should be. The Winter Meetings start tomorrow and hopefully the Mets will make some moves. I need something to keep me awake for the next 2 weeks before Holiday Break. I am looking towards the Hot Stove to do that. (And I am trying to get excited for the Fairly Oddparents Christmas special this year). But anyways, the Mets need to accomplish something this week. I am so sick of the Mets being spectators as all of the other teams fill their needs. Omar takes his time with every move and then says he tried to get the pieces but nobody was out there to get. THAT IS BECAUSE THEY WERE TAKEN BEFORE YOU TRIED!!! He already lost his chance with Vazquez and during the season he got NOBODY at the deadline. If he continues like this the 2009 Mets will be the same as the 2008 Mets. Except they'll be worse because they will be down 2 starting pitchers.

I am so sick of Omar and don't know how I will get through even 1 more year of him. I am sick of his mentality that he can get one big player and not need any smaller players to compliment that player. That is what he's done.

It's all or nothing for Omar.
And I don't feel like waiting to see more nothing.

Omar Is To Blame

He is the reason that I am not posting everyday. If he would just make some move I would have something to post. There aren't even rumors of the Mets talking to any teams about possible trades or talking to players about big contracts. The Hot Stove has been quite cold and I am about to freeze. The Winter Meetings should heat things up but I am really not expecting anything big to happen with the Mets. I have absolutely no faith in Omar and I can only see him making a few minor moves but keeping most of the old team.

I will leave you with this video of the song Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback:

I Am Getting Really Excited

I just read this post on the New York Times baseball blog. Today I have read so much about Citi Field and I can't wait to go there. I can't wait for the season to start and the Mets to play home games. Gary, Keith, and Ron will talk about all the perks of the new park as the camera pans around the stadium during a coaching visit to the mound to speak to a member of the bullpen. I can't wait until the camera shows Joe Smith warming up in the bullpen and hearing about the new layout of Citi Field. And I can't wait to see the postgame interviews in the new clubhouse.

There is so much to look forward to and so long to wait.

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaack!

I came back from London yesterday but I was way too exhausted to post anything. Once I get the pics on my computer I will post a recap of my trip.

Today the Mets offered arbitration to Poo Poo Perez. If they can get him at a cheaper price I am all for having another season with Poo (that sounds kinda gross) but he will think he is worth way more than his inconsistent pitching.

I am a big fan of Jon Garland and if the Mets could add him and also keep Perez then the rotation could have Johan, Mikey P., John Maine, Poo Poo, and Garland. If they can't get Garland then they should go after Javier Vazquez or another pitcher that could be 'lightening in a bottle'. They don't have to be the best pitchers. They just have to eat some innings and get the job done.

The Mets have a lot of fixing to do to their pitching staff.
