And Now They're Back!

David Wright will be spending Super Bowl Sunday with HoJo at HoJo's house. And HoJo will be doing the cooking. Daniel Murphey and Nick Evans will be joining them and they will probably end up talking about hitting. I hope Daniel and Nick get lots of playing time this year. Hopefully they won't be as lost in the outfield.

It's Nick Evans' birthday.
HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY NICK!

When the Mets are Away, Alex Gordon is Here Instead

On the front page of the ESPN MLB section there is an article about Alex Gordon. I can't read it all because I'm not an ESPN Insider but if you want to spend your money you can do that and read lots of cool stuff. It talks about Alex's hitting and how he is improving to be able to get through the entire season. I haven't seen him play much but it does seem like he tends to drift off towards the end of the season. Hopefully this year he will be consistent for the entire season. And hopefully the consistiency will be good and not a bad .220 batting average consistent.

Here's the link.

OHMIGOD!

That's what I said when I saw the preview for what was coming up on Hot Stove after the break at some point during the episode. I said that because Kevin went to Wichita to visit Mike Pelfrey in the offseason to catch up with him. It was nice seeing Mikey P. during the winter when he isn't wearing a Santa suit.

I'll post a link when I find one.

lolz

The Mets haven't done anything so instead I will just post some videos that I like. They are going to be really random but whatevs.

If you actually stuck around long enough to get to this point then remember to watch Mets Hot Stove tonight if you aren't going to the Manny rally. I don't want Manny but I wanna see the rally. (I'll be recording it because I have a bio tutor coming.

What, No Press For Me?!

Update 9:33- The Rangers just won and Scotty Gomez is being interviewed and he is absolutely impossible not to love.

This boy has a Steelers themed Bar Mitzvah and had a news article written about it. My Bat Mitzvah didn't have any news articles written about it. And mine was fun and Broadway themed (I know, no Mets). But I find this unfair, especially because I really don't like the steelers.

In other news, Jerry Manuel said he would like seeing Manny as a Met. I say I would throw-up from the sight of Manny in a Mets uniform.

News from former Mets (A.K.A. traitors, at least for today) is that Tom Glavine is going to meet with Frank Wren to see if he can sign a contract with the Red Sox. Can't he just accept that John Smoltz will always be better than him?

In the 'if all my hopes and dreams came true' department there is the Yankee want to trade Xavier Nady and the Met need for more offense and another outfielder so maybe soon they can hook up on a trade.

I Really Don't Know What Will End Up In This Post

So, apparently there is some book that Joe Torre didn't actually write but he said a bunch of stuff that just happens to be in the book. I am actually really excited to read about A-Fraud and all the other goodies that Joe Torre uses to burn the Yankees.

Today at school this senior guy that I know saw my sister in her Yankee shirt and apparently went up to her and was like 'you're a yankee fan?!' because he knew I'm a Mets fan but he didn't know my sister is a yankee fan.

Also in school, for my acting class at some point this semester we are going to get to do an impersonation of somebody so I thought of Yogi Berra but then my teacher said the person has to be dead so I thought of Casey Stengal but my teacher told me I could choose Yogi if I wanted to, and then she called me a baseball addict.

The Mets have done absolutely NOTHING to improve the offense so I think that the Wilpons should give somebody else a chance to be the GM. If they chose me I would trade Tatis and Robinson Cancel to the Yankees for Xavier Nady because the Yankees would SOOOOOOO love that trade. I would also trade Connor Robertson and Carlos Muniz to the Indians for Joe Smith (I love you!) and Grady Sizemore. Then I would trade Carlos Beltran to the Red Sox for Jacoby Ellsbury. I know those trades would make me happy and appeal to a whole new fan base, teenage girls!

Drop Everything!

Because I just found a David Wright video!

SO HOT!

The Mets Need a FanFest!

I'm really bored and kinda just want baseball to start. I woke up this morning wishing I could turn on the TV and see highlights of last nights Mets game. But the Mets didn't have a game last night so there is no way I could do that. This week has really been the low point of sports. Football has this week off before the Super Bowl prep. week. Basketball is boring and the NHL has the All-Star game this week so their week ended on like Wednesday. Basically, I'm really bored and SO ready for baseball.

Nothing interesting to post about the Mets.

WOO! (A.K.A. I'm A Lot More Excited Than I Really Should Be)

With all of the Freddy Garcia rumors I never got too excited about him and always looked at him as a pitcher that the Mets don't really have any reason to get. He has been injured for a long time and I don't expect much from him. But, now that the Mets have signed him I am actually really excited for him to be a Met. Maybe it is just the fact that the Mets have 5 starters and now Omar can focus on getting Xavier Nady back. Maybe it's because he chose the Mets over the Yankees. The Mets won beat the Yankees, even if it is only for some formerly injured pitcher.

I have new hope!

Sui Dynasty! I Know!

But first I have something to say.

I can't imagine that Michael Young is happy about this. The Rangers just moved him away from SS so they could use Elvis there. Then they go and get the best fielding SS like EVER. That can't be what Mike expected. Basically they moved him to make room for Omar. They claim he is going be a utility infielder but they can't do that to the best SS in the game.

Because I Just Feel Like Posting

I am bored and don't feel like doing more work on my research paper (does anybody know anything about the Sui Dynasty?) so instead I'm just going to post some random words and see what happens. I did something like this in class once where my teacher told us to just write. We couldn't think about what we were writing, we just had to write whatever came to mind. I ended up writing the lyrics to some song. I don't remember what song it was though.

I guess that's enough for now.

Let's Go Mets!

Brad Ausmus Will Have A Job

I have always been a fan of Brad Ausmus. He represents us Jews well and now that Shawn Green is gone he is the best Jewish MLBer. He doesn't have an 8-pack like Ryan Braun but he has been around longer. Brad is going to sign with the Dodgers and I have no real reason to dislike the Dodgers so I guess it's OK.

The funny this is that MLBTradeRumors had one post that said the Padres were interested in Ausmus and the next post said that he is going to sign with the Dodgers.

Good luck on the west coast Brad!

BSB

The BSB is for the Backstreet Boys because I have been hearing them on the radio all afternoon/evening.

If you want to watch Mike Nickeas hit a homerun in the Arizona Fall League in 2007 click here.

They Can't REALLY Have Given Up On Him

Mike Nickeas isn't on the list of the Mets non-roster invitees. I guess this means the Mets don't see anything in him. I'm really bummed. Hopefully there will be more players invited and he will be one of them.

Here's the current list:

Team USA Is Stacked

The World Baseball Classic rosters were announced like 45 minutes ago. People could argue that the Dominican Republic has the best offense but it is downright untrue to say a team is hotter than the USA team.

David Wright, Jake Peavy, Grady Sizemore, Mark De Rosa, Curtis Granderson, Joe Nathan, Kevin Youkilis (more awesome than hot), and Dustin Pedroia are just some of the players on the roster. Mets fans are kind of stuck at the SS position because two unmentionables are the players there (one from the Yankees, one from the Fillies). But otherwise the team is pretty amazing and will be fun to watch.

It's also been a Mets wonderland of a show. First they had Davey Johnson in studio at the same time thta David Wright was on the phone (YAY!). Later they had Carlos Delgado on the phone and after that they had Bobby Valentine in studio. Let's Go Mets!

USA! USA!

It's Been Tough Since The Tides

The Cardinals won so the Phillies (I mean Eagles) are out of the playoffs.

Earlier this week the Buffalo Bisons released their new uniforms to make it look like they are the AAA affiliate of the Mets. The uniforms aren't exactly pretty or good looking or any other way you would like to say it. But the Mets AAA team has been kinda insecure since they left Norfolk. The Zephyrs were just weird and now the Bisons just don't feel right. The Tides were the reason David Wright grew up a Mets fan and they went away in the blink of an eye. Hopefully the Bisons will last even though they have a creepy mascot.

Random Stuff

OK, so first, on a football note, the Eagles are going to win and break my heart yet again. PHILADELPHIA NEEDS TO LOSE! It doesn't look like the Cardinals are gonna do anything about that so either the Steelers (eww!) or Ravens have to stop them (most likely the Steelers).

The Mets apparently aren't gonna sign Poo Poo soon if they do sign him. (I can hear my brother chanting 'Let's Go Cardinals' downstairs) If they Mets want to have a rotation they need some Poo! (my immature moment is over)

The Royals had FanFest and Alex got a mohawk. I need to see pics!

I just COMPLETELY forgot whatelse I was going to post.

I remember now! I was watching a replay of game 2 of the 2007 World Series and it was interrupted by a Cole Hamels press conference. Come on! The guy signed an extension it's not anything special!

Nice Hat Kev

This has nothing to do with the Mets but I like Kevin Youkilis. And he signed an extension with the Red Sox. It's nice to know he will be in the same city as me for many summers to come. Also, I like the hat.

I Was Bored And Thought It Would Be Fun To Post This

I just thought I would share a picture of my Mets hat that I got in 2005 and have worn for most of the days that have occurred since.

And in the top right corner that is Elizabeth Cole's dress. I have a slight obsession with American Girl dolls.

Geez! I'm about to explode!

I NEED baseball to start. Like seriously. I need something to post other than 'the Mets have a lot of work to do" and "the Mets signed (insert name of random no-name player nobody has ever heard of". I need something real to say. I need something real to THINK! I'm just getting so anxious for pitchers and catchers to report and I want the feeling of Spring Training to finally come. I was sick of football before it started and the Knicks just suck. Hockey isn't the same. I need my true love to come back. I need BASEBALL. True, pure, MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL! I don't want anymore Hot Stove crap. I want 7 o'clock to mean Mets game on SNY and not Hot Stove Live on MLB Network. I want to sit on the computer with Gameday open and not a youtube video for Jessie's Girl (yes, that is what I was listening to).

I want the Mets to drive me insane with their up and down play and not with their up and down contract offers to Derek Lowe!

Why Am I A Mets Fan?

I just answered this question on Yahoo! Answers and I thought it was really interesting.

The simple answer is because my dad is a Mets fan. But it really is because my siblings are both Yankee fans and I don't want to be like them. My favorite player is either David Wright or Mike Pelfrey and former player is probably Jerry Grote. I am really too young to have a favorite World Series match up because I was 6 when they playing in their last World Series but I wish I could have been more interested. I like how Mets fans have been through everything. The extreme lows and losing seasons and the extreme highs when it seemed the Mets were on top of the world. They are a big market team that can also be seen as small market because they always are looked at as the ugly step-sister of the Yankees.

I like having the chance to say I am a Mets fan and not just somebody that thinks of the first New York team that comes to mind.

No matter how much they suck in September the Mets will be playing October baseball this year.

Omar Eats Lunch

I am guessing Omar eats lunch everyday but today he ate lunch with Scott Boras. Apparently they discussed Derek Lowe and maybe some Poo Poo Perez (I kinda miss writing that name). It is reported they also argued over the Secret Life Of The American Teenager season premier and whether Amy should have (illegally) married Ben or if she should go with Rickey. I personally don't like either one.
Anyways, the Mets have been stubborn in their negotiations with Derek Lowe and they haven't really done anything regarding Poo Poo. Both sides reportedly feel confident a deal will be reached regarding Derek Lowe.

In the 'I feel like a klutz' department:
I was leaving lunch today and I banged my shin on one of the benches and now it really hurts =(

I Feel Special

I was just watching Jeopardy and there was a category on baseaball. I got most of the questions right including one where the question (or answer) was 'who is Casey Stengal' and another where the question (or answer) was 'who is Fernando Valenzuela'.

I don't know how I got them right but I guess baseball fandom can really 'pay off'

Let's Go Mets!

DUH!

So, I kinda got this idea from somebody because the offseason has been really dry and I don't feel like talking about Mark Teixeira being introduced by the Yankees.

So, for a project for English class I have to read a biography or autobiography. I am reading about Roy Campanella. His autobiography is It's Good To Be Alive. I haven't finished it yet but it is one of the best books I have ever read. Reading what he had gone through changes the way I see any of the African American players of that generation and even the ones today. I also prefer the fact that it is an autobiography to a biography. I mean, a person can learn all they want about a person but they will never know what it is like to live the events. He does a really good job explaining everything that happened to him and what his feeling really were with each event.

So, if you have a chance go and get this book from your library.

Because I Can't Think Of Anything Else To Post

I know it has been a while since I last posted anything but I have nothing to post. So, instead I will lead you to something a little happier than what is on The 'Ropolitans. It's Bronson Arroyo singing my favorite song ever, Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls.

I have a lot to watch today between Chad and the Secret Life Of The American Teenager.
