I'm Going To Miss Ramon

I'll have stuff about last night's game later along with pics.

On the way home from the game last night I heard Ramon Castro was traded to the White Sox for RHP Lance Broadway. I'm really going to miss Ramon but I also see the good news. Now, if Brian Schneider or Omir Santos can't catch Mike Nickeas is one place closer to getting a chance. Right now he is still on the DL in AAA but I know he can work his way back and maybe play better and show the Mets he can hit and be a big league catcher. So, I know the next catcher the Mets would call up is Robinson Cancel but Nickeas has to be after that. Right? Thole doesn't have enough catching experience to be called up just yet. So, as much as I am going to miss Ramon, this puts Mike Nickeas that much closer.

BTW, when I try to picture Ramon in a White Sox uniform I only picture their mascot.

Brian Stokes

Oh, the dimples!
Jerry Manuel obviously has something against Brian because he hasn't done much lately.

The Mets finally won! Bobby Parnell pitched 100 MPH!! I found 3 things for you to read!!!

The first is about Michael Cuddyer's cycle last night. I wish I could've seen the dimples described, they had to be amazing!

The second is about Barry Zito's foundation. It is really interesting and no matter what I say about it, it wouldn't do the article justice. So just read it.

and the third is a blog post from Surfing the Mets. Apparently David has lots of bromances. But he doesn't have his own show about it so they can't be that big. And Pelf and Pedroia should have an interesting match-up tonight.

Bobby Parnell

Speaking of Bobby Parnell, I haven't heard much of him in a while.

Softball ended yesterday and we lost. We didn't do well this year but next year we should be getting some pitching and maybe we'll have more success. I'm looking forward to having my afternoons back. I changed my picture to one of me in game action.

The Mets have a slightly weird lineup tonight and hopefully it will help them get going:

Murphy - 1B
Church - RF
Beltran - CF
Sheffield - DH
Wright - 3B
Reed - LF
Santos - C
Martinez - SS
Castillo - 2B
Santana - LHP

They're playing in Boston so I'll get to watch Jacoby but hopefully the Sox won't have too much success against the Mets.

I'm tired and might take a nap before my voice lesson.

Ummmmmmmmmm.........

Never really thought of a name for this post.

We won again today. 30-something to 4. Mercied them again. I didn't start the game but came in to play first base and had 2 singles and a walk and scored twice.

And I don't have any classes tomorrow, instead my class has our "Shakespeare Festival". It's when there are multiple groups and they each out on a different part of A Midsummer Night's Dream. my group is doing the Pyramis and Thisbe part and it's really funny. This morning I didn't really have a voice so in rehearsal my voice cracked and it was really awkward. In the afternoon I have field day and I'm on the green team. I realized I have way too many Mets hats because I was looking for a green hat and found a Mets hat I got at military appreciation night last year.

I'm so excited for tomorrow! and I managed to get through this post without complaining about last night's catastrophe.

I Don't Know

We won today by mercy. It was like 33-9 or something. But for some reason I'm not in a good mood. I have a bad cold and the back of my knee hurts and I just want to go to sleep. But I have homework.

This song makes me feel better:

Finally

No, I'm not talking about the Mets win last night. I'm talking about the fact that I finally read the blurb on the David Wright Vitamin Water. I haven't seen his Power-C in stores but I finally got a good enough close up to read.

baseball is a classic all-american pastime. the peanuts, the foot long wieners, and a bizarre mascot with a huge baseball for a head. so if you want to be the next all american classic, like our man david wright, we'd like to introduce you to david's power... we call it the wright stuff (hint hint, it contains taurine, vitamin c and you're holding it in your wright hand). it will help you shoot peas, catch a fly ball as easy as a can of corn, and hit the high cheese over the wright field fence. is it just us or did all that baseball lingo make you hungry?

David's favorite is Power-C and so is mine. YAY!

REVENGE IS SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, you all remember my rant from Monday, right?? Well, today we played that same team today and I'll just say it didn't look pretty. WE WON 25-22!!!!!!!!!! It was the most intense, amazing game ever!!!!!!!!!! I caught the entire game except for the final 2 outs because I hurt my arm throwing down (I'm actually fine now) to 2nd base. But our better defensive catcher came in and saved us by getting the final out on a runner trying to steal second.

At the plate I got on base 3 or 4 times (I don't remember), and one of the times I stole third and had to slide and DIDN'T epically fail (sorry mandachan). I scored a bunch of runs and RBIs too. I got a double and then the next time I was up the coach told the CF to move back and I thought the pressure would screw me. But I ended up getting a single.

I AM SO PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Need To Vent

So, today at softball we lost by 4 runs. It was the closest game we have played but we could have won it. First, I was catching and there was a play at the plate and I caught the throw and tagged the runner out. But as she was getting up to go to the bench she knocks the ball out of my glove and is called SAFE!!! Yes, SHE WAS GETTING UP TO GO TO THE BENCH!!!!!!!! In the next inning my team was coming back and I was on third base after getting hit by a pitch (I now have a bruise) and there was a force at the plate. The pitcher throws the ball on a hop and the catcher is sitting there like a brick. I couldn't slide or I would've broken my ankle so I leap over the catcher and touch home plate before the catcher picks up the bounce. Guess what? I WAS CALLED OUT! FMLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all, it was interference by the catcher and second of all I TOUCHED THE BASE!!!!!

That's all I have to say. We have another game tomorrow and all I have from this game is a nasty bruise.

My First Attempt at Photoshop

Well, it wasn't on Photoshop because I don't have that I my computer but it was the same idea.

The picture was part of the card I made for my mom. She likes Kyle Farnsworth and has always said he would fit perfectly in the Mets bullpen. The hat I used is from a picture of Bobby Parnell.

So, I'd say the Mets have been playing pretty well. At dinner tonight I realized my grandpa is the only adult male Yankee fan in my family. That felt pretty good. METS DOMINANCE! If the Mets continue to play well the entire world will be full of Mets fans and I'll be very happy. Actually I kinda like the smaller community of Mets fans. Even if it isn't nearly as small as it was before I was born.

Tomorrow is going to be a major match-up between Derek Lowe and Johan. The Mets have hit Lowe pretty hard in the past but he is dominating everyone this year.

Let's Go Mets!

p.s.
when I get to it I'll post some Mikey P. fun facts from the Kids Club newsleter I got in the mail on Friday.

p.p.s
Why in the world are the Saturday and Sunday Mets vs. Giants games national broadcast worthy??

And Now I'm Up To My Knee, It's The Patella To Me

That's how I figured out Poo Poo went on the DL because of a knee injury after reading the MetsBlog post title.

Jon Niese will start Friday but he has been getting lit up in AAA so I'm not sure what to think. But, the entire Buffalo Bisons team is getting lit up.

The Mets really need to score runs for Johan but they seem to be content letting him work with one late run during the inning in which he leaves the game. I guess I'm okay with them getting him the win at the last moment as long as Johan keeps his ERA under 1.00 (Zach Greinke style).

And if David doesn't start hitting soon I'm going to have to use all the money in my piggy bank to buy a ticket to a game and tell David what I want him to do. Of course I would be really sweet and innocent looking so he would listen to me.

The Mets go for the sweep tomorrow.
Let's Go Mets!

Thank You Adam Rubin!

My search for the mysterious Mike Nickeas injury is over thanks to Adam Rubin. In his latest farm report he mentions Mike tweaked an oblique during a play at the plate. Once again, thank you Adam Rubin.

I'm really mad because today I had to miss softball because of some stupid show I'm in at school and there was rehearsal. And I think I might've been starting at 1st base if I was there. This sucks.

The Mets actually won at Turner Field even though Luis Castillo and Carlos Delgado did whatever they could to get the Mets in the worst possible situations. And that means JJ Putz and K-Rod aren't available tonight. Last time the Mets didn't have a closer things didn't turn out well.

So tonight the Mets are going to take on the Phillies without a closer and/or a setup man. Oy vey.

I Forgot to Mention This

Joe Smith, AKA my "boyfriend", is on the DL. His shoulder is hurting but it isn't expected to be serious.

I miss Joe... a lot.
Let's Go Mets!

I Thought I Had Good News

Earlier this week Mike Nickeas was promoted to AAA and I was really excited and happy for him. Then while he was in AAA he didn't get a hit and I started to worry the Mets might lose faith in him and release him. And today, the Bisons put him on the disabled list. And yet, I cannot seem to find the injury that has landed him on the DL. If anybody has any info on what part of Mike needs to go on the DL, leave a comment.

The Mets took a tough loss yesterday and the rainout today let it sink in. Poo Poo looked as bad as he ever has. I didn't actually see the game while he was in but if I had I think I would've chucked something at the TV. He better go on the DL for some mysterious injury or take a demotion to AAA. If not, he should be without a job.

The reason I didn't see him pitch is because I was at the Yankee game. I didn't have a rooting interest so I kept score until we left with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. We didn't take any pics so there really is nothing to post. I got a hat that I would think is cool if I were a Yankee fan. But I'm not, so it really isn't all that special.

The Mets have to start their series in Atlanta tomorrow night. I have a gut feeling this series won't go well. The Mets don't seem to win at Turner Stadium and I really don't know why. I just don't want to end up watching flat baseball for the next week. Hopefully the Mets can figure things out.
