More Notes

I love reading the Spring Training notes and I have some more of them.

  • Daniel Murphy is all pumped up for the season and creamed everybody in the sprints. Sadly, David came in last (I would too, especially after gym today when I played team handball with my team down 2 players the entire time).
  • Ryan Church is ready to buy an I ♥ New York t-shirt to prove he actually likes playing for the Mets, contrary to what Mike Francesa believes.
  • John Maine, Brian Schneider, and Joe Smith awwww =( all went to Mike Pelfrey's wedding in November. I was in London at the time.

I am so ready for Spring Training. I have 3 tests tomorrow but after that I can relax for Friday and the next week that I have off for break. I loved the weather today even if it will only last for a day. I can't wait until the spring!

Mikey P.

I can smell baseball in the air and once I get through this week of tests and horrors baseball will be in full (I don't want to say 'bloom' because that is the name of my least favorite teacher) spring. But, right now I have the first funny tidbit of the season:

Mike Pelfrey is a fan of the movie Marley & Me. I haven't seen it but I really want to. I guess Mike has interesting opinions on things considering his favorite TV show was Saved By the Bell. But I love Mikey none the less.

Baseball Rules The World!

Mwahahahahah!!!!!

I can tell because today on the NFL show on ESPN they were going to talk about A-Rod.

Now for the real content.
Top 25 Things About My Mets Fandom:

1. I plan to marry David Wright
2. The first Mets autographs I got on my own (not bought online) are the ones I got at Spring Training last year
3. I have gotten 2 other Mets autographs but they were of Doug Meinfhjdsgfb (Dougie) and Chris Woodward while they were on the Pirates and Yankees, respectively
4. My first Mets t-shirt was a David Wright t-shirt and it was blue, then I got a black Wright shirt, and now I have a new blue one
5. I have a Johan Santana t-shirt (I'm wearing it)
6. I have 3 Mets jerseys: 1 pinstriped Wright, 1 home-white Wright, and 1 authentic pinstriped Beltran that I got as a Bat Mitzvah gift
7. I have 10 Mets caps and 1 winter hat
8. I was Mike Pelfrey's first career complete game
9. In my family, my sister and brother are both Yankee fans, my mom is a fan of both teams, and my dad is a Mets fan
10. Because of the fact stated above there is no cheering in my house during the Subway Series
11. I have a Mr. Met I built at Build-a-Bear, a dog from Build-a-Bear named Mr. Met jr, a Build-a-Bear day at Shea bear named Mr. Met, and a little Mr. Met stuffed animal I got from my Secret Santa last year
12. For lunch after going to Spring Training last year my family went to Friendly's and about 99% of the people there had come from Spring Training, it was an amazing feeling
13. I have 2 Carlos Beltran bobbleheads (they're both from the same bobblehead day) and one of them is 'Ask the Carlos' because in 2006 I could ask it a question and it would always know the answer
14. I also have a David Wright bobblehead from 2006 and one of my camp friends called me and said that she had been to a Mets game and gotten a David Wright bobblehead and I would really like and it turned out that we were both at the game
15. I remember my lock combination for school by using the Mets
16. The first Mets game I was at was against the Phillies and Mookie was the first base coach
17. I subtly put blue and orange into my Bat Mitzvah by making the main color light blue but some of the flowers on the tables were orange
18. During baseball season my radio doesn't go change from WFAN
19. Everybody that had ever met (no pun intended) me associates me with the Mets if they ever see me again
20. Whenever I get a book from school and have to write the number on the bookcard I always think of the Mets player with that number, right now for French my book is #20 and I still associate it with Shawn Green
21. On my braces I had to get both blue AND orange because I couldn't chose just one
22. Once baseball season starts I try harder to get my homework done before the game starts (well, I would like to think I do)
23. I plan to name my children after my favorite Mets players
24. I really want to work for the Mets when I grow up
25. 4 DAYS UNTIL PITCHERS AND CATCHERS!!!!

Let's See How Long I Can Make This Post

So, as you all probably know A-Rod tested positive for steroids in 2003. I had a hunch he used PEDs at some point but didn't think any proof would ever come out saying he really used. This means David Wright is officially the #1 3rd baseman in New York!!!!! I always thought he was but now everybody should agree with me. Anyways, I know there was not any penalties for using in 2003 but something should be done. I mean, he won the MVP in 2003 and obviously he didn't win by only using his natural abilities. I'm not sure who came in second that year and if it was a close vote but something has to happen to the credibility of the award in 2003. If the steroid accusations are correct then that 2003 award should be tainted forever.

As much blame that is put on A-Rod for using some also has to be put on the MLB. The 2003 survey tests were supposed to be anonymous and the players that were part of them were not even supposed to know the results. The fact that MLB didn't destroy the results after they got the numbers they needed puzzles me. If they wanted to guarantee nobody was ever going to know the specifics of the tests then they shouldn't have kept the results around. I know it had to be extremely hard for anybody to get this information but somebody did and it was leaked. MLB didn't take care of the issue when it happened and now they are paying the price by making an entire generation of players tainted.

Next, I know Omar Minaya has said he will not make any more big moves this offseason I want him to make a trade. I am happy to wait to see if this trade will be better until the midseason trading deadline. I think the Mets should look into moving Fernando Martinez. In what his professional baseball career has been he has shown that he is injury prone. By giving him more time to recover from the recent elbow problems the Mets can see if he can get through any period of time without an injury.

Just my two sense I mean cents. (I was literally running out of the house when I wrote that). Thanks mandachan.

It's Almost Like Baseball Season!

Almost. I'm sitting watching the UltiMET Classic on SNY and listening to music. If I didn't know how this game turned out it would be the real thing!

I got really excited and thought I should share my excitement with the world.

The Best Of The Best

I'm really bored so I decided I would pick out my favorite posts and put the links to them up here.

That is just a few of the posts I really like. Hopefully soon there will be something relevant to baseball to post.

38!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why 38?!!! Of all the awkward numbers Joe Smith could choose he had to take 38! It really is an awkward number. I don't see the appeal of 38.

Oh Joe. I love him but question his number picking abilities.

SNOW!

It's snowing! Well, it was, I'm not sure if it still is. I found a really cool pic when I went to the MLB section of ESPN. It has 3 hot guys in it and 1 not so hot guy. I don't really have time to read the article but I can still give you the link.

Hooray for dissecting frogs! (My class is doing that on Thursday)

It's Not What You Think

For acting class at school we have to choose somebody to portray and I wanted a baseball player but I'm not allowed to choose a guy so I'm thinking about Bonnie Baker.

More Poo In 2009

Poo Poo Perez is back with the Mets for the next 3 years. It just wouldn't be right if there was no Poo Poo on the Mets. I am glad he is back even though he can be inconsistent. There is nothing wrong with giving up 1 run in 8 innings and then giving up 8 runs in 1/3 of an inning. That's just who he is. I will welcome him back even though sometimes it won't seem that way.
