Bring Out the Brooms!

What can I say?! The Mets swept the A's and it ended the A's 45 series streak of not being swept.

The game started on a high note with Jose Reyes. He doubled and scored on a throwing error by Jack Cust.

Paul Lo Duca was in the starting lineup because it was his bobble head day. He went 1-4 with Ramon Castro coming in to pinch-hit for what would be his last at-bat.

In the second Johnny Maine got his first career RBI. It was a sacrifice fly to center field that scored Jose Valentin.

A wild pitch and double by Easley gave the Mets 2 more runs in the third.

Valentin added a 3-run homer and Beltran had a 2-RBI single to give the Mets their final runs of the game.

In the end the score was 10-2 and the Mets swept the A's!

Keep it going boys we can do this!

DAVID!!!!!!!!

Last night El Duque pitched a masterful game but didn't get any run support. The A's left 10 runners on base and failed to get the big hit. For most of the game the Mets could not get the big hit either.

It was a frustrating game for hitters. In the 6th inning Paul Lo Duca got VERY upset about a strike called on a 0-1 pitch. He exploded and was ejected from the game. When he finally left the field he threw his shin-guards out of the dugout and onto the field. Ramon Castro came in so he could strike out swinging for Paul Lo Duca on the first pitch he sees. He was then put behind the plate.

In the bottom of the ninth Ramon Castro started off by doubling. He huffed and puffed all the way to second base. Carlos Beltran was intentionally walked.

Then it was DAVID!

He took the first pitch for a strike and the next for a ball.
The third pitched was blooped right in front of Travis Buck for the walk-off double.

And yes, Ramon Castro made it all the way from second to score.

P.S.
Mike Piazza was at the game. He went out to present the A's line-up.

HA HA!

One of my favorite jokes to lighten the moods of frustrated Mets fans

There was a 5 story building
on the first floor there was a poor man
on the second floor there was a rich man
on the third floor there was a couple
on the fourth floor there was a blind man
and on the fifth floor there was a woman that loves to take showers

One day the woman that loves to take showers was taking a shower
she hears her doorbell ring so she puts on her robe to answer the door

it is the poor man, he says:
congratulate me I just got money

she congratulates him and goes back to her shower

she is in the shower and hears the doorbell ring again
she puts on her robe to answer the door

it is the rich man, he says:
congratulate me I just donated money

she congratulates him and goes back to her shower

she is in the shower and hears the doorbell ring again
she puts on her robe to answer the door

it is the couple, they say:
congratulate us we just got married

she congratulates them and goes back to her shower

she is in the shower and hears the doorbell ring one more time
she knows it can only be the blind man so she doesn't put on her robe to answer the door

it is, he says:
CONGRATULATE ME I JUST GOT MY SIGHT BACK!

OUCH!

The Mets lost for the third straight time. They also lost another outfielder. Endy Chavez hurt his hamstring and is likely headed for the DL. I just hope the Mets win tonight.
