Ummmm... Henrik, Can You Pitch?

I really don't know what to say. Is it legal for somebody to be that hot?

I need a moment..........................................................................
.........................................................................................................
............................................................................................................
............................................................................................................
.......................................................................................................................

Okay. Ummm. I still have nothing to say.

ummm. Let's Go Rangers!
uuuuuuummmmmmm, I think.

Go Team Adam Rubin!

See, I told you I would get back to baseball even though I will continue to listen to Hunter Parrish.

First, read David Lennon's post about Johan Santana's condition. It scares you out of your socks right? Now read Adam Rubin's post about Johan Santana. It helps knowing exactly what is wrong with him. Now you should go over to the 'Ropolitans and read what is put together over there. That helps. No matter how serious the media makes it seem, injuries can happen to anybody and there will be a way to heal. In Johan's case, the way to heal is not as drastic as some might think.

Let's Go Mets!

p.s.
Here's a really good article about Mike Pelfrey.

and, I don't have a link but Joe Smith is feeling better so I won't have to go to Arizona to take care of him.

I'll Get Back To Baseball Later

But for now I have this video of Hunter Parish singing All That's Known from Spring Awakening.

I Found This Pic...

Well, I obviously found it a while ago because it is on the mac and not laptop. But, the desktop background on the mac is a slide-show of a bunch of different pics and I saw a really good one of Jacoby. I'm not sure where I originally found it though.

That's Depressing

My hopes of having the ultimate hottie team are crushed. Grady pulled out of the WBC because of a sore groin. This sucks. I'm not even going to mention who took his place because that would just make it worse.

I can't even make this a legitimate post because I am too disappointed to think about this.

fsdhaasjfkdh (A.K.A. I don't feel like thinking of a title)

Sooooo, the Mets have won both games they have played this Spring and I have seen almost none of the action. Right now I'm watching the replay of today's game because I was at school for the start of it and then I went to a softball meeting so I missed the rest of the game. But, I'll be able to see some of tomorrow's game against the Cardinals because I get out of school at 2. Too bad Mike Pelfrey is pitching in the earlier game against team Italy. I am not really going to take anything from the first 2 games because it is Spring Training and like nothing really matters when the pitchers only pitch for like 2 innings and the hitters don't make all of the road trips. The only thing I will take from today's game is that Ryan Church REALLY needs to shave.

I have been looking but haven't found anything about Mike Nickeas' situation but he is probably going to Minor League camp so he should be reporting in the next few days.

There was a funny moment from today's broadcast where John Maine interviewed Kevin instead of the other way around. I laughed.

And I totally just had a moment. SNY had a commercial for the Citi Field preview show and I was like "that's on tonight? oh yeah! it's thursday!" Well, it's better than having it still be Wednesday and having to relive today. But, I would have more time to do my homework.

Brian Schneider is awesome. Don't know where that came from but I guess it's true. I can't really think of anything that isn't awesome about him.

And Johan had some discomfort in his elbow so he won't be pitching tomorrow.

I think I've said enough.

Feel Better Joe!

Joe Smith is missing some time right now. Not because of an injury, because he's sick. Apparently it's kinda bad. The flu has been going around just about everywhere so he might have that. Whatever it is I just hope the people with the Indians take care of him. If they fail to do their job I will personally fly to Arizona and feed him chicken soup and take care of him.

I LOVE YOU JOE!!!!!

Just Amazing

I can't believe Spring Awakening closed. I thank Youtube for letting me see Hunter Parrish without having to watch Weeds. I love him.

I know this was really random.

Such A Good Feeling

I saw a very pleasing sight when I went on to MLB.com. I saw the schedule for tomorrow's Spring Training games. Just like during the regular season there is a list of every game in order of starting time. I love it!

In the "I'm an idiot who should really think more" department: We got to volunteer for when we wanted to present out Quebec projects for French class. I wasn't really thinking when I raised my hand for March 6. But, I was in the car going somewhere last week when I realized something. The WBC starts of MARCH 5!!!!! I really don't know why I was so stupid. I don't know how I'll be ready to present the next day. But, I managed to trade with my friend so my subject is sports.

Games start tomorrow! (the Mets are at the Orioles)

"Should I hit it over the right field fence, or the left one?"

That's a quote of one of the phrases Ken Griffey Jr. says in Backyard Baseball 2003. I just found the game again this morning and it was really fun to play. This is my team and batting order of what I remember:

Ken Griffey Jr., 2B
Mike Piazza, C
Carlos Delgado, 1B
Carlos Beltran, CF
Vladimir Guerrero, SS
Shawn Green, RF
Troy Glaus, 3B
Cliff Floyd, LF
Tim Hudson, P

I don't remember if that is the exact batting order but it's pretty close. And David Wright is the coach.

I have played 3 games. Winning 17-1 against the Melonheads, winning 15-0 against the Braves, and winning 20-0 against the Marlins.

It really is a fun game and the best of the Backyard Baseball games.

I'm Ready For Baseball To REALLY Start

I know I was complaining so much about wanting Spring Training to come and now that it's here I should be happy.

But I'm not. Spring Training has amused me but I don't feel like it has really done much for me except help me procrastinate on my homework (which I should be doing). I am so ready for the games to start. I'll go for a little bit of Spring exhibition games but those get old quickly. And I won't even be home to watch the first games because I have to go someplace called school (?). I'm not sure what the point of it is. I mean, it really is just a place where I am grossed out by what I am learning in biology. But, I guess if I ever want to do anything with my life it is important to go to school because the college admissions people and the job hiring people think it is important.

But anyways, Jerry Manuel has been killing the hitters with his new '80 pitch/swing in 7 minutes' drill. I guess he is killing them the way Carlos Beltran wants the Mets to kill Cole Hamels. I still don't believe he ever went through puberty. Have you heard his voice??!!!?

Also, Luis CastiUGH! has reportedly lost 17 pounds. He will probably find them again by mid-May.

Lastly, Mike Pelfrey, Xavier Nady, and Johnny Damon are having money troubles. Apparently Xavier can't buy an apartment in New York but he is always welcome to stay at my house.

He's Gone For Now But The Mets Will Have Another Chance

Orlando Hudson finally signed. He has a 1 year deal with the Dodgers for $3.4 million and more in incentives. But the fact that it is only a 1 year deal gives the Mets another chance to go after him when they realize that Luis Castillo isn't going to work out. I am surprised at how long it took for him to sign. But now that he signed I think Manny might be signing soon, especially because O-Dog signed with the Dodgers who are the only team that I think even has the slightest thought of signing Manny.

I really should start my homework so I'm gonna go.

Ouch

The cheering at the end hurts the most. (The video is from MetsBlog)

Goodbye Shea

According to multiple reports the last of Shea Stadium will be coming down this morning. I'll miss Shea but it was going to come down eventually. I'm just glad I don't have school the day it is coming down because I really would have hated coming home from school to see the pics of a pile of dirt where the last remains of Shea were. The last game I saw the Mets last win at Shea. I'll remember that game forever.

Mike Jacobs Signs Contract, He Was Also In My Dream Last Night

First my dream,
I was at this baseball training place and wanted to take lessons. There were a bunch of players as the instructors but they were all really tall. I mean, like 7 feet tall. Anyways, the first lesson I got had a few instructors and one of them was Mike Jacobs (as a Marlin) but he wasn't the main instructor. I was afraid of the main instructor so I left the lesson and made sure my next one would have Mike Jacobs be the main instructor. So, I get to my next lesson and Mike is the instructor and all of a sudden he is a more normal height and I'm not afraid of him. I talk to him about how he became one of my favorite players and everything seemed to work out.

Now to the contract,
Mike Jacobs signed a 1 year $3.275 million deal with the Royals avoiding arbitration. Blah, blah, blah. I really am not that interested in all of the money stuff, I just want to know the players are on some team, getting paid some amount of money.

Huh? But I Thought...? He Isn't on the...?

I am majorly confused. And I mean majorly. I went to see the Indians Spring Training pics from today and when I went there I found Casey Blake appearing the the first picture and many of the other pictures. But he's on the Dodgers.

My brain is all mushed up and I am not sure of what to think.

My Day, and Possibly Week, Has Been Made

Now you probably ask why I say that. Well, it's because I found a video interview of Joe Smith. Yes, that Joe Smith. The cute one I really want to marry. And boy is he cuter than ever.

I LOVE YOU, JOE!

All That A-Rod Stuff

I have to admit I will probably end up watching some of the A-Rod press conference. But I won't watch for very long because I really don't care about what he says and I really just want to know if Xavier is there. I know the Yankees all claim to be a family but would anybody, besides me, notice if Xavier was or was not there. I mean, the media is just looking for the big names with the big money. They aren't notice if Xavier Nady is sitting with Jose Molina there to back up his "family". I don't think Xavier should be there. If the players don't support steroid use then they shouldn't support the players that have used steroids. But Mark Teixeira, CC Sabathia, and AJ Burnett are all going to be there and they are all going to say they don't support steroids but they will be there if somebody on their team is admitting to using. I wouldn't go. I would say that I don't want anything to do with anybody that has used. At least, that is what I would like to think I would do. If you don't support using, then why should you support the players that have used?

I ACTUALLY Thought He Was A Kid

I don't know why I'm up this early on a day I don't have school but I decided to find Spring Training pics and the Red Sox are one of a few teams that have put up pics. When I saw the first Jacoby Ellsbury picture in this album I legit thought he was a 15 year old. Then I realized it was Jacoby and cracked up.

Wow. Just wow.

Mr. Met = My Life

Today I went into the city (NYC if you don't know) with my brother and a good family friend. I had the choice of going to the Met. with my mom, sister, other family friend, and the mom of the family friends, or I could go to the Intrepid with my dad, brother, and friend. I chose to go to the Intrepid because Mr. Met was going to be there. I got pictures with him and when he saw that I was wearing a Mets T-shirt under my jacket he made me unzip my jacket for the picture. I got a NY license plate with my name on it but they didn't have Ellie so I got one with my full name. Oh well. It was a pretty awesome day.

The rest of this post will just be pics from the day.

Sigh...

First, the depressing. Just wow. I spent so much time at Shea and now it could disappear in the blink of an eye. It's just so different than I thought it would be. I mean, I said goodbye at my last game there but I didn't really say goodbye. It was still standing when I said goodbye. There was still more baseball to be played. It was dump and I accept that but it was special to Mets fans. Shea gave me the feeling that I was at a place with history. I mean a place with the scrappy, gritty, fight-to-the-death history. The stuff that people remember by the feeling of what's around them and not by the facts of who got the hit and what his batting average was but the facts of who screamed and the exact spot you were standing at the moment. Shea had the REAL memories and not the made up crap hitting streaks and home runs. The memories were all personal.

Now that I've depressed you completely go listen to this. If you don't cry you are not human.

But now I have a David Wright video to make it all better. He is so cute! And I so need baseball to make me sane! I mean, I just saw Confessions of a Shopaholic! If it was baseball season I would have been home watching some game but instead I had to sit through an hour and 45 minutes of crap. Well, it wasn't that bad. But only because of him. (I never knew Hugh Dancy was that hot!)

Let's Go Mets!

He's Special

Joe Smith that is. And there is this really cool article about him on the Indians website. I miss Joe but I'm glad he will have to opportunity to try to be an 8th inning guy in Cleveland. He deserved that role last year and he was just about the only member of the Mets bullpen that didn't get a shot to try. Eric Wedge will give Joe that chance and he will also show the mistake Omar made when he traded Joe away.

Let's Go Joe!

The Evolution Of Man

That's what I thought of when I saw the pic on Adam Rubin's Mets blog. (It isn't really the evolution of man, it's just John Maine, Johan Santana, Mike Pelfrey, and Brian Schneider doing their stretching.)

Let's Go Mets!

He Needs A Jump Start

K-Rod needed help starting his car and it had to be jump-started. I hope he doesn't need a jump start to get saves this season. The Mets have enough bullpen trouble as it is and they don't need their closer to get stuck in his car on the way to the game.

I wonder who has the Range Rover that they were using to help K-Rod.

He Finally Signed But I Don't Remember Any Puns

Last offseason the Mets were rumored to be close to a deal with Livan Hernandez. I had thought of all these great puns to use when he signed but the Mets never actually signed him. Now the Mets have signed him and it has been a while I have no idea of what my puns could have been.

I guess I'll have to think of more puns and maybe the old ones will come back to me.

Time For The Draft

So basically, the Goggy League is a pretend baseball league that I am making. The teams will be made up of my stuffed animals and dolls. It will give me something to do when the Mets have days off and when there just really isn't anything much going on.

I'm going to do the draft now and will post the results later.

Coming Soon...

I'll try to get this up as soon as possible.

But for now I'll just tell you that you are going to see something called the Goggy League. More to come...

It Like Actually Feels Like Baseball

And not just because I am posting so often. But, it's because the music I'm listening to is the same music. And because I have found so many cool notes that finally have to do with baseball on the field and not off it.

Grady Sizemore hit the first home run at their new Spring Training facility in Arizona. He's dedicated so he shows up before position player have to come.

This Is What I'm Going To Do

Actually I have no idea of what I'm going to do. Even though pitchers and catchers reported today nothing much has happened with the Mets. They signed Ramon Martinez for when Luis CastiUGH! and Jose Valentin both go down. But that really isn't news.

The offseason really didn't go by that slowly. I mean, at points I felt like it would never end but now that Spring Training is here I feel like it was pretty fast. This felt like the most uneventful Hot Stove season EVER but the Mets made a few moves and Omar thinks the Mets are fine for the next 2 years, so everything is good. Right?

I am really enjoying Manny go on without a team. He doesn't deserve a Major League team. I really thought some team would have signed him by now but he isn't going for the pity money.

Baseball is really here. I'm ready for Spring Training and I want to see everybody in Port St. Lucie ready for the season.

LET'S GO METS!!!!!

Did He Lose A Bet?!

Sorta. Mike Pelfrey was wearing a military style helmet at the workouts today. Apparently he isn't too good a t driving a golf cart and went off road yesterday when he was out with John Maine and Ryan Church.

Hopefully he has a better game of golf.

More Notes

I love reading the Spring Training notes and I have some more of them.

  • Daniel Murphy is all pumped up for the season and creamed everybody in the sprints. Sadly, David came in last (I would too, especially after gym today when I played team handball with my team down 2 players the entire time).
  • Ryan Church is ready to buy an I ♥ New York t-shirt to prove he actually likes playing for the Mets, contrary to what Mike Francesa believes.
  • John Maine, Brian Schneider, and Joe Smith awwww =( all went to Mike Pelfrey's wedding in November. I was in London at the time.

I am so ready for Spring Training. I have 3 tests tomorrow but after that I can relax for Friday and the next week that I have off for break. I loved the weather today even if it will only last for a day. I can't wait until the spring!

Mikey P.

I can smell baseball in the air and once I get through this week of tests and horrors baseball will be in full (I don't want to say 'bloom' because that is the name of my least favorite teacher) spring. But, right now I have the first funny tidbit of the season:

Mike Pelfrey is a fan of the movie Marley & Me. I haven't seen it but I really want to. I guess Mike has interesting opinions on things considering his favorite TV show was Saved By the Bell. But I love Mikey none the less.

Let's See How Long I Can Make This Post

So, as you all probably know A-Rod tested positive for steroids in 2003. I had a hunch he used PEDs at some point but didn't think any proof would ever come out saying he really used. This means David Wright is officially the #1 3rd baseman in New York!!!!! I always thought he was but now everybody should agree with me. Anyways, I know there was not any penalties for using in 2003 but something should be done. I mean, he won the MVP in 2003 and obviously he didn't win by only using his natural abilities. I'm not sure who came in second that year and if it was a close vote but something has to happen to the credibility of the award in 2003. If the steroid accusations are correct then that 2003 award should be tainted forever.

As much blame that is put on A-Rod for using some also has to be put on the MLB. The 2003 survey tests were supposed to be anonymous and the players that were part of them were not even supposed to know the results. The fact that MLB didn't destroy the results after they got the numbers they needed puzzles me. If they wanted to guarantee nobody was ever going to know the specifics of the tests then they shouldn't have kept the results around. I know it had to be extremely hard for anybody to get this information but somebody did and it was leaked. MLB didn't take care of the issue when it happened and now they are paying the price by making an entire generation of players tainted.

Next, I know Omar Minaya has said he will not make any more big moves this offseason I want him to make a trade. I am happy to wait to see if this trade will be better until the midseason trading deadline. I think the Mets should look into moving Fernando Martinez. In what his professional baseball career has been he has shown that he is injury prone. By giving him more time to recover from the recent elbow problems the Mets can see if he can get through any period of time without an injury.

Just my two sense I mean cents. (I was literally running out of the house when I wrote that). Thanks mandachan.

It's Not What You Think

For acting class at school we have to choose somebody to portray and I wanted a baseball player but I'm not allowed to choose a guy so I'm thinking about Bonnie Baker.

More Poo In 2009

Poo Poo Perez is back with the Mets for the next 3 years. It just wouldn't be right if there was no Poo Poo on the Mets. I am glad he is back even though he can be inconsistent. There is nothing wrong with giving up 1 run in 8 innings and then giving up 8 runs in 1/3 of an inning. That's just who he is. I will welcome him back even though sometimes it won't seem that way.
