I'm Bored

There is nothing to do today without a Mets game to look forward to. Right now I am watching Wizards of Waverly Place and it is the baseball episode and Riley is REALLY cute! I guess I have a thing for catchers.

But otherwise, life is boring. Especially because the Mets didn't make ANY moves. I woulda liked if they got an outfielder like David DeJesus but that obviously didn't happen. In my mind Omar has a lot of questions to answer because he treats way to many prospects as untouchable. We all know the Mets farm system sucks so why not trade a few more players and look to completely rebuild it. If another team wants Jon Niese I don't see why Omar thinks he is so amazing and the Mets have to keep him. I am basically just majorly disappointed in the Mets and mostly Omar's inability to make a move.

I think I will update my iPod to stay busy.

That Scruffy Haired Cutie!

Ian Kinsler

and then David

Keep up the cuteness!

Bom bom be dum

Everybody at camp sings the part of the song that is in the post title. I really like the song but now I am making this really random.

So something that is kinda on the irrelevant side but it has to do with the Mets is from the LoHud Mets Blog:

-David Wright and Brian Schneider are playing cards at one end of the clubhouse. Mike Pelfrey and Joe Smith are playing cards at the other.

I knew Smitty and Mikey P. were friends partly because of this pic and David is friends with just about anybody. But, I just like reading that stuff. BTW, I am currently matching with Mike and Joe in that pic with the hat and sweatshirt.

Anyways...

I Knew It From The Beginning

Once I saw John Maine throw his first pitch I knew this game wasn't gonna go the Mets' way.

Oh well...

I Like the Sound Of That

I was at the game last night but I didn't stay until the end. It was fun to be there and see Mikey P. get the player of the week award presented to him. It was also nice to get a Mets bag for take HER out to the ball game.

This morning I read this interview with Mike Pelfrey. So, now I know that he is getting married November 21, and his nickname is Blackjack. That is some good information to know. Mike keeps coming up with more reasons for me to like him. I also got the Mets yearbook and it says Mike's favorite show growing up was Saved By The Bell. The yearbook also has a picture from the dugout in Spring Training and there are 5 players. Guess who the only player with a name on their jersey is? My "boyfriend" is the only one that doesn't have a number in the 80's (59) and he has his name on his jersey (Nickeas). That is one of the best parts of the yearbook.

It is really weird seeing Xavier in a Yankee uniform. He hasn't even worn the pinstripes yet and I am already uncomfortable.

Mets just won another game and another series.

NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo!

this is some sick joke

i am still crying and now listening to backstreet boys

fekwhsfljgflkewjgfl;we

thinking of X in a yankee uniform makes me want to hurl

now i am going to cry

There Is So Much I Have To Say

And yet have no idea what I really have to say

Oh My Goodness! What Are We Going To Do?! Jim Rome Is Burning!

...now that I got that out of my system...

I really have no idea what I should say... Oh yeah! I was watching Baseball Tonight last night and they showed Alex Gordon and I was REALLY happy! I was also happy because they were talking about the Mets do well and I am so used to them talking about all of the problems they have. If the Mets can keep this up a lot of fans will come out of the dark. But they obviously weren't real fans if they were in the dark in the first place. But the Cards are a tough team even if they were just swept by the scorching hot (get it?) Brewers. The Mets will need to play hard to win these games.

Happy birthday Billy Wags! Today he turns 37 years old!

It's Lonely At the Top

I have a t-shirt that says that.

But hopefully the Mets will be okay being alone because I want them to stay in first place for another bunch of months until the end of October. Still no first name Perez pitched very well. He usually does in big games. And Billy Wagner got another save. I have never been happier to see Wags than I have been the past two days. He really, actually means something to this team. Carlos Delpoopeyhead (never losing the nickname) continued to rake in July with a HUGE 2 RBI hit. After David scored on the hit he looked absolutely PHSYCHED! All of the excitement of the series came out in David's expression at that moment.

I just wish the game had started a little later. When I got on the camp bus to go home I almost fell asleep 'cuz I was so bored. If the Mets had been playing I woulda followed it on my phone. But at least they won so I wasn't bummed out for the rest of the day.

I was so close to seeing Mikey P. pitch again but he was moved up to tomorrow's game. It looks like Brian Stokes will be starting when I am at the game on Saturday.

That Was Highly Unpleasant

I didn't even watch the end of the game last night. After the Phi***** loaded the bases I knew the game was over. Ya wanna know something? I have never liked Duaner Sanchezand this is just another nail in the coffin. In 2006 I wasn't a fan of him for a reason I don't even know and that was BEFORE Xavier was traded. Trading Xavier when DUANER got injured 'cuz he had the midnight munchies didn't help my feelings towards him. Then last year he showed up ate Spring Training WAY outta shape and lost the season. And now, when the Mets needed 3 OUTS he gave up 3 HITS (maybe a walk) instead! If he is a Major League pitcher he should be able to do that. He can pitch the ninth inning with a 4-run lead but 3 runs isn't possibly enough for him or the rest of the Mets' bullpen. Except Joe Smith who did his job but Jose failed to make a play that I could have made. The Mets better win tonight or I will be an angry girl!

I would like to propose a trade:
Luis Aguayo (I dunno how to spell it) for Manny Acta

I know you don't really trade managers or coaches but this would wipe away all (or most) of my anger. The Mets do not do well with anybody names Luis (see Castillo). Last night he made Endy seriously miffed when he sent him to try to score on two occaisions. Both times he was out by a mile. I would prefer Sandy Alomar as third base coach even though he holds up EVERYBODY no matter what. It woulda helped last night.

But about Manny Acta. He knew what he was doing and was majorly liked. I remember seeing a picture of him in 2006 when he went with the Mets winter caravan and he learned to dance at a middle school. I think I remember reading somewhere that the players really liked him and that is most likely the truth. (unless I misremembered, lol)
But the Mets needed those runs and they will never get them back.

Now for the I hate Shane Victorino segment.
Last night after he scored in the ninth inning barrage he stood on home plate, clapped his hands towards the Mets dugout and was just asking for a beating. He has become one of the highest public enemies in Met land. I really want a brawl tonight and Shane should get knocked out. But I somehow cannot imagine David in a fist fight. Shane deserves every ounce of hatred he gets and it's time for something to happen.

Now that you are all fired up for tonight's game I will leave you with a video for a song I really like:

We Could Make This Work

I know how the Mets could have Luis Castillo play 2B and still go for something different so the fans don't go nuts that he sucks and can't play.

They can sign him to a one year deal and see how he does. He is only 24 years old and is a big guy so he could scare the other team outta their socks. He was born in New York so he could stand up to the media. I can't find anywhere that says how well he plays baseball but he is an athlete so he could work through that.

Now if you haven't noticed I am talking about this Luis Castillo.

Let's Go Mets!

but seriously, it could work

Xavier Henry Nady

That is the name of Xavier Clifford Nady's son. This is a better article than the one I linked to before.

YAY XAVIER!

This post has actual content

The Mets lost their game and winning streak last night. If you had to out the blame on one guy it would be John Maine. He has been ineffective in his last 4 starts or so and just couldn't find the strike zone in the 4th inning last night. He gave up a couple of lucky hits but ultimately couldn't find his way out of the inning. I am not sure he woulda been able to find his way outta a paper bag at that point. The bullpen didn't give up any runs and got over their hiccup, at least for a day, after three runs two nights ago.

The hitting looked like it did before the streak but it always looks that way against Bronson Arroyo who absolutely OWNS the Mets. Carlos Beltran was stranded on third after a leadoff (I think) triple in the late innings. Jose Reyes continued to suck and has gone 0-for-9 since the break.

The Mets can't let this loss get to them and hopefully they can get right back on track tonight. I just heard David talk after the game and he sounded like he was going to cry. If he needs somebody to talk to I am always open. Oh wait, he already HAS a girlfriend!

Notes:
  • There are some funny quotes from Ryan Braun and Grady Sizemore here
  • Mike Nickeas caught all 14 innings of the B-Mets win last night but went 0-for-5 and is batting .200
  • Xavier is a daddy

Baseball Is Back!

Well, in about an hour. But the Mets are finally gonna play a game that means something. Has it really only been 3 days? It seems like a lot longer. But the good news is that there will be a game on! For now I will entertain you with this video of some players getting interviewed during the All Star festivities!

Let's Go Mets!

Or not! I am trying to get the video up but can't right now! I will just keep you wonderin' what it really is!

This Is The Most Boring Sports Day!

So I will try to figure out which team I was really rooting for yesterday.

NL All Stars I was rooting for:
  • David Wright- DUH!
  • Chase Utley- major hotness!
  • Billy Wagner- he is a Met, right?
  • Ryan Braun- really cute
  • Nate McLouth- shares an outfield with Xavier
  • Matt Holliday- absolutely gorgeous!
  • Dan Haren- just look at him!
  • Ryan Dempster- have you seen his son?! and awesome glove movement stuff before he throws the pitch
AL All Stars I was rooting for:
  • Grady Sizemore- double DUH!
  • Joe Nathan- awesome
  • Ian Kinlser- a better version of Ryan Braun
  • Josh Hamilton- you have to be dead not to root for him!
  • Justin Morneau- really hot
  • Joe Mauer- as hot as Morneau but with side burns!
  • Jonathan Papelbon- hottie
  • Big Papi- loved how he sat with the NL at the home run derby until Hamilton started killing the ball
  • Cliff Lee- do I need a reason?
Well, there is one more AL person than NL so I really had no reason to be bummed out all day. UGH!

And Tim Lincicum- feel better buddy

Let's Go Mets!

I have been completely bored and have listened to this song tengazillion times so I thought I would share it:

This is Depressing

David Wright has a girlfriend. Not much else to say except that I hope he is happy because I sure am not.

David just broke the hearts of over 1,000,000 girls in this world.Ha ha ha! This makes me feel a little better!

Here We Go...

I have a lot to say so stay with me.

First of all, I went to Fan Fest on Sunday and it was really fun. I got a personalized baseball card and the stats that were on it were AH-MAZING! I also got 3 autographs from players from the All American Girls Professional Baseball League. Otherwise I just did Fan Fest-y stuff and enjoyed the day.

As much as I liked Fan Fest I like the Home Run Derby even more. When I got there it was absolutely packed and although I wasn't surprised by that it was frustrating trying move five feet. I didn't see much of AL batting practice but I saw all of the NL batting practice. At the beginning of NL BP, David ran out to center field to shag flies and guess who was with him! If you guessed Chase Utley you are correct! YAY! I got pics of them standing together and the hotness of the pics is too much to handle. Also during BP, David was put on the big screen in the outfield and he didn't notice so he started yawning and even though he was not having his best moment he was still hotter than most of the known world.

The player intros were fun. For Grady he 'looks younger than your children' and I cracked up at that while it is completely true!

Other notes:
  • Ryan Dempster's son is REALLY cute and he kept running onto the field so Dempster would have to chase after him. At one point he ran away with two bats!
  • The homer Hamilton hit that bounced off the wall left a mark over the Bank of America logo
  • The mascots came out and I need a separate set of notes for that:
  • I couldn't remember what the National's mascots name was but then I remembered and said Screech randomly and my sister gave me a really weird look
  • Mr. Met spent some time "talking" to Wally
  • Slider (Indians) tried to take down Gapper (Reds)
  • The RAYS mascot was introduced as the DEVIL RAYS mascot
  • The person in the Swinging Friar costume (they're not real?!) was a woman
  • Homer the Brave was lagging behind during the group photo and missed it completely
  • Fredbird (I think) made a failed attempt at a split

And Mike Pelfrey has been the best but he deserves his own post.

Let's Go Mets!

Onwards and Upwards, Backwards and Forwards

I have so much to say and I thought it would be good to start with a Willy Wonka reference.

But first, the Mets have been playing their best baseball since 2006 of late and they are becoming an exciting team. The hitting and pitching has started to click. The best way to see that is by looking at Johan Sanatana. He had gotten 12 runs of support in 6 games and the Mets finally gave him 5 runs of support. That gave him his first win in what seems like decades. The Mets also stayed in the game the entire time yesterday. When they gave up the lead it seemed like the bullpen would falter and it would turn into a 'call to the booth' game. But instead the Mets scored runs to take the lead back and eventually win the game. Now they need to take the series from the Rockies and go into the All Star Break on a high note.

Speaking of All Stars...David is an All Star! He would like to thank the little people and possibly Alfonso Soriano. Well, I have to confirm that with him.... but he took the roster spot Soriano left because of an injury. I just have to say, FINALLY! David has not had the seasons he had in the past 2 seasons but he still has better numbers than Corey Hart (his daughter is AH-DORABLE!) or possible Aramis Ramirez (although he hit a go-ahead homer to break up a 0-0 tie today). But David deserves to be there and he definitely gave me a real reason to watch the game. (Hopefully Billy won't blow it for the NL this year).

And I am all for the Mets getting Xavier or Matt Holliday as long as the deal doesn't include any of my "untouchables". And you should know who they are! I have been really obsessed with Xavier lately and am trying to find some new pics of him. If I find anything really nice I will post it...

Mike Nickeas took an 0-fer with 2 walks yesterday. His batting average is only .200. But I still have confidence!

And finally, I have had this song stuck in my head all day...

Let's Go Mets!

Goo Goo Dolls and Elmo

It's Elmo and the Goo Goo Dolls! Two of my favorites!

SNY.tv - Post Game: Mike Pelfrey 07-08-2008

I've heard Mike and John's chess games are fierce!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesse: It's nice to meet you, Eeeeeeeeeeep.
That is my Hannah Montana reference for the day.

But that can basically describe how happy I just was to watch Mikey P. interviewed on the otherwise pathetic show, the Wheel House. I felt bad for him when he had to answer questions for the annoying voice guy. I mean, that guy asked him to describe how hard it is to pitch in the big leagues under the pressure of playing in New York. How hard does this guy think it is? Did he want Mike to say it is the easiest thing he has ever done? So basically, I hate the show but LOVE Mikey P.

Let's Go Mets!

And the guy with the annoying voice just suggested the Mets getting Michael Cuddyer. If they got him I will scream in joy and do a happy dance.

Also, Loudmouths is on now so you can see how sidetracked I got while writing this.

They Are So Close!

It was amazingly nice for the Mets to take 3-of-4 from the Phillies over the weekend and continuing that with a win tonight was even better. The Mets are only 1.5 games back and the Phillies look like they are falling hard.

But tonight's game was better than I ever. I went to the game and was very excited to see Mikey P. pitch. The last two games I have been to have been his starts. He looked completely in control and got out of a tough first inning bases loaded jam. Oh yeah, he was cuter than ever while rocking the facial hair. The Mets got big hits in this game with Fernando and Carlos and Carlos contributing homers. And Schoeneweis looked dominant as well as Smitty who looked dominant and more importantly, really really cute! I also enjoyed the Vote Wright Now campaign for David!

Ryan Choich (if you have been paying attention you know that isn't a typo) was put back on the DL. That makes me sad.

Mike Nickeas has continued to struggle at the plate. He is batting aroun .219.

Let's Go Mets!

P.S.
Mikey P. was pitcher of the month for June. YAY MIKEY P!

fjgdrshvlkjbvhsdj njdsb njdsn ls

the mets have every possible call go against them.

all i can say

I've Had A Long Day

Ya know what happens when you have been at camp all day and have had just a little bit too much sugar? Well, you see this headline:
Phils place Gordon on DL to give elbow a break

As this:
ROYALS place Gordon on DL to give elbow a break

and then you freak out because you think hottie Alex Gordon is on the DL and something is wrong with him.

So the lesson is that you should go to sleep earlier and have less juice and more water at camp.

Let's Go Grady!
...in the home run derby, which I will be at...

I Have Said It Before and I Will Say It Again:

Joe Smith is the cutest person in the world!

And Billy Wagner is sh*t.
If you want to know how I felt after the ninth inning look at this post.

And if you want to know how I felt at the end of the game you can go to this post.
I cannot put into words how cute Joe was during his at bat. He is 0-for-2 with 2 strikeouts in his career. When I was at spring training he was talking to the fans where I was standing about his batting and how he needs more practice. Then he went into the cages and took some cuts. I now see what he meant.

But the real deal is that if the Mets had lost this game I would have been in hiding for weeks. Billy "Blow-up" Wagner is the Mets rep. for the ALL- STAR GAME! I don't want the Mets represented that way. David deserves to be on the team and if he isn't I am boycotting the game!

So basically, Billy needs to learn the word CLUTCH, and the Mets need to win the game tomorrow. If only Pedro can learn to be affective again.

Let's Go Mets!

VOTE!...or else

BTW, the or else is that I will send Rex the Wonder Dog after you.

So you better get voting for David on the final vote ballot. He didn't make the all star team and I am VERY MAD about that so VOTE!...or else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vote For David!

Wait! I have another nickname!

I Swear! Joe Smith Is The Cutest Person EVER!

I just found this interview with Joe Smith and it just makes me love him even more than I already do. I really think he is the cutest person in the world!

Let's Go Mets!

Read the interview and you will know what that is...

But What Are Their REAL Names?...

I have come up with nicknames for some of the Red Sox players because I have watched the games this weekend against the Yankees.

Jacoby Ellsbury- JACOBY (but in a high pitched, girly voice) or Hotstuff

Last night's game doesn't deserve a post

But I have something exciting to say! Last night my aunt came over for the BBQ at my house and she brought my graduation gift. Guess what it was! A Mike Nickeas game used B-Mets batting helmet! I never realized how much padding is in the helmets and how cool they are. I am currently obsessed with it.

I am just trying this out to see if it works and if I ever want to use I will know how to.

Grab Those Firecracker Ice Pops and Celebrate!

Fireworks for everyone!

Happy B-Day USA!

Happy Independence Day!

I was very happy with Mike Pelfrey's outing last night. He has recently proved why he was a first pick by the Mets. In his last few starts he has been outstanding and the Mets continue to score runs in his starts which is more than can be said for Johan Santana. But they went through a stretch when Mike was getting no run support and he took some tough losses. The game was fun to watch and I am sure Mikey P.'s family was proud. His parents and financee were there as well as his fiancee's family. There was, however, one part of the game that I did not enjoy watching. It was when Ryan Church hit a line drive that David had to duck to get out of the way of. He had to come out of the game after scoring on a Delgado homer. He injured a groin (eeeeeeeeeerrrrrrr...) but says he is completely fine and wants to play tonight.

I dunno how much of the game I will be able to see 'cuz there is a BBQ at my house but anyways...

Not Much To Say

The bullpen didn't do its job last night and there is nothing to do about that. The Mets are not the team they were expected to be. Plain and simple. But they have another game tonight and another chance to win.

Let's Go Mets!

Bad Night/Good Night

Mike Nickeas went 0-for-3 tonight. UGH!

Xavier Nady has 2 homers tonight. YAY!

"I would love to take the kids to the game... what time's kickoff?"

That's a quote from The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody which is what I am watching right now. Nice come from behind win last night from the Mets. I don't really have much to say about it because one Mets win doesn't seem to go too far this year. The Mets are a game under .500 and it would be really nice to see them get even just one game over .500. But before that nothing means much to me. The Mets need to prove they can go on a hot streak.

Nothing much else to say except...
Let's Go Mets!

It's An Oxymoron

Sizemore not afraid to take risks

if you know about Grady you will understand

This Is Truly Awesome!

Last night during the Mets' debacle of a game I explored the Mets Lounge message boards. And I found this:

On each player's page, there is an ID number in the URL.

Take that player ID, and replace the X's in this URL:
http://www.mlb.com/pressbox/photos/headshots_players_coaches/XXXXXX_raw.jpg
(Also remove the space after http://. I added it so the forum doesn't shorten the URL)
So, I did that and it amused me more than it probably should have. I was LOLing while my dad was reminding me that I was amused by the fact that all of the players have bodies.

Ya know what, be like Nike and Just Do It!

Let's Go Mets! My mom thinks he looks dorky
