If anybody has any ideas we would really appreciate it.
Thanx!

My Predictions

I would really love it if the Mets won the NL East, the Pirates won the Central, and the Padres won the West, with the Rockies winning the Wild Card.
The first choice is obvious and the Pirates are for Xavier with the Padres for Jake Peavy and the Rockies for Matt Holliday. Of course, if the Mets miraculously acquire Xavier in some trade that does not include Joe Smith or Mike Pelfrey or Mike Nickeas I would chose the Brewers for Ryan Braun.
This spring the Mets have shown that their pitching is strong (at least the first 4 starters) and I think the hitting is going to click. David Wright is due for an MVP award after his MVP-caliber season last year. John Maine has looked better than ever and Pedro looks like he will finally be healthy. Jose Reyes has learned from what happened at the end of last season and of course, we have JOHAN!

In the American League I chose Red Sox, Indians, Athletics, and the Angels in the Wild Card. The Red Sox are not going away any time soon and GRADY is too much to ignore in the Indians. Heck, the Athletics have already won a game so things look bright. It is impossible to forget about the team the Angels have.

Obviously these picks are bad and I am really just rooting for the Mets, Xavier, Grady, and anybody else that I happen to find that also is hot.

If David Wright, Xavier Nady, Joe Smith, Mike Pelfrey, Mike Nickeas, Grady Sizemore, Jake Peavy, Mark Buehrle, Barry Zito, Matt Holliday, and Ryan Braun all magically win the MVP I will be a very happy person.

Let's Go Mets!

forget it

I have decided not to move. It is taking to long and the other blog is too confusing. So, I am STAYING! And this is for good.
Sorry about the confusion.

Adam

Last night I was listening to my excessively long iTunes playlist and the song "Secret" by Maroon 5 came on.  I am a HUGE Maroon 5 fan and my mom also likes their music.  She had never heard this song before but knows what Adam Levine looks like and his voice is SO recognizable and she knew it was Maroon 5.  After that I made the comment that I could go through life only listening to Adam Levine.
If you have heard his voice you should know why...

I am pretty sure my life would be complete if I had Adam Levine's voice to listen to and David Wright's face.
(Although, looking at Adam's face wouldn't hurt much)

He IS Goofy!

According to teammate John Grabow, Xavier Nady is the funniest member of the Pirates.  I had also read this from Matt Capps earlier this year.  I am glad the Pirates enjoy X-man.
I just cannot get over how HOTT he is!

I would never think of him as being the funny player.  But, I guess I also could see him like that in his own quiet and surprising way.

With all of the trade talks about him I really only want him to end up in one place.
The M-E-T-S METS METS METS!

I am REALLY looking forward to being able to see him when he plays against the Mets.

BTW, I blame my friend that I explained the story of my lucky number to for X-man's trade.  I told her my lucky number was 522 because of David and Xavier and the next thing I know is Xavier is traded to Pittsburgh.
Anyway...
Let's Go Mets!

P.S.
Tomorrow the Mets are going to play the Indians and I was hoping that David would play against Grady.  It turns out David will not be playing, as well as Jose Reyes, and they are the only "everyday'' starters that will not be playing.  A few days ago Grady was not playing against the Mets so it didn't work then.

You might as well rip my heart out!

I Am Too Lazy To Think Of A Title For This One

I was just reading the notes on SNY and I really liked the part about Joe Smith and Mike Pelfrey watching a game together.  This is not the first time I have read about the two of them hanging out together.  I have read that they like to play video games together as well.  I LOVE it when my favorite players are friends.  I don't know why, but it makes me happy.

I also liked the part about Scott Schoeneweis and his music.  I am a fan of the entrance music for the players and it is fun knowing what type of music they enjoy listening to.

I Found A Flaw!

David Wright was perfect.
That is what I thought.
It is NOT true!
In this article it explains how he has been working on his fielding. Everybody knows that his throws have been off on more than one occasion. David has been working with Sandy Alomar trying to fix his problems throwing. They have come partially from a glove tap he does sometimes before he throws the ball to first base.
In the article David says:
"I would trade the 'Web Gems' just to make all the routine ones," Wright said. "That's what wins games. That's where I seem to have the most problems - when I have too much time to think, or I relax a little bit. Maybe I don't focus on the routine play like I do on the spectacular play."

I am glad I could get that off of my chest.

In other news:
The Mets players are trying to make fun out of the recent injuries. There is a very good short article about their sense of humor with the press.

Just a Note

I don't have any pics from today but I would like to point out that David Wright was looking very good today. Right when I saw him I could tell he was having a good day.
NVR mind... he always is having a good day

He is SO HOTT!!!!!

I just wanted to make a note that David looked really good on Sunday March 16, 2008.

Check This Out!

There is a great article about Carlos Beltran. It is an interview that talks about what a player should do to be the best to his quiet personality on and off the field. Everybody knows that he made the bold prediction and that "the Mets are the team to beat" but I am sure he didn't say that because he wanted the spotlight. Carlos is never one to call attention to himself for a bogus reason. He is a really great, smart guy who knows what he is doing. He obviously had a reason to say what he said and he thought out what was going to happen when he said it. He is not one to make stuff up. I really like Carlos because he does a lot more than anybody thinks he does. Just because he is not a vocal leader, it does not mean he is not a leader "behind-the-scenes". In the interview he explains how he helps when needed but he doesn't look for a useless situation and try to force his ideas. Many fans are not big on the quiet leader but I think that it is okay and works well for people who know what they are doing. Carlos definitely knows what he is doing.

Jose Can You See My Locker?

Today Jose Reyes was punked. I have to admit that the first time I read the post title on metsblog.com I thought it said "plunked" and wondered why that would be important. I was not interested until I found out the correct title. It always cracks me up when tricks are played on players. For Jose Reyes to walk into the locker room and find his locker COMPLETELY empty is hysterical. I loved the prank the Phillies pulled when their pitcher was traded for a hotdog eater.

There is also a GREAT post at one of my favorite blogs. This blogger definitely knows who is HOTT!

OUCH!

In the latest news from the Mets list of Spring Training news is that David Wright and Jose Reyes are the only projected starters to remain fully healthy.

Wait a minute!  Wait a minute!

That is the good news.  The bad news (and what seems to be the Mets' everyday news) is that another player is out.  Moises Alou is expected to miss four to six weeks with a hernia surgery.  The Mets are in desperate needs of a player that can play outfield and first base and it would be nice if he had some power and could also hit left handed pitching.

DAH DAH DAH...
XAVIER NADY please come on down!

I would LOVE, you hear me LOVE X-Man to come back.  He is one of my favorite players and would fit the Mets needs.  (Well some, they have A LOT!)  I am all for him as long as the Mets don't have to pay too much to get him.  (That means JOE SMITH is a no-no!)  I really want Xavier and so so many New York fans were not ready to let him go!  He is loved by everybody and fits in well in the clubhouse.
In Pittsburgh he was 'the funny one' (not exact quote) according to Matt Capps!

So,  come on Metsies!  Bring Xavier back!
Pretty, pretty please, with a cherry on top!
we cannot go without this pretty face!

How Can You Not Love Joe Smith?!

I am absolutely in LOVE with Joe Smith and I loved reading this:

"Joe Smith ought to have his own blog. As he signed baseball cards fans had mailed to him with a stamped, return envelope, Smith told the story of how as a fifth-grader he mailed Michael Jordan a card and never heard back.

He also mentioned how last year he was so eager to meet ex-Cub Mark Grace, but the Diamondbacks announcer never came to the Mets’ clubhouse to meet him even after Ed Coleman mentioned it to Grace.

“He didn’t even come down and say hi,” Smith said, in playful disgust.

Added Smith: “Don’t make Mark Grace sound like a bad guy. He’s my favorite Cub.”

Smith received a copy of the 2K8 baseball video game, which coverboy Jose Reyes provided from his personal stash. The reliever was searching for an Xbox, which he claimed was to find out if Johan Santana had been included on the Mets. Teammates knew the real reason: Smith wanted to find out if he was included in the game."

From Adam Rubin's Surfing the Mets

He is so CUTE! I love his sense of humor and I love everything about him. He was also really really nice at Spring Training and signed SO much stuff. He also played around with the fans while he was waiting to take batting practice in the outdoor cages.

We Won!

The Mets finally won a game this year and for the first time since last year. It was also the first game I watched. I love being able to watch baseball again.

The game was not very exciting in the action part. It was scoreless until the bottom of the ninth. It ended with a bases loaded HBP. I was very happy when Mike Nickeas came into the game. I know he will most likely not be in the majors for quite a while if he ever is in the majors. The best part was just seeing him get some game action. He struck out in his only at bat.

David Wright also was hit less in 3 at bats. When Gary and Keith were talking about David's fielding and his Gold Glove he shows them exactly why he won it. He makes a great barehanded play on a slow roller on the line.

Jonathon Niese pitched very well. He went two solid innings without giving up a hit. Then Robert Parnell pitched well also. It looks like the Mets have a bright future in the pitching area. (Which is good because they seem short on it right now).

In the fourth inning Ryan Church and Marlon Anderson collided in short right field trying catch a pop fly. Marlon walked off the field with his own power while Church needed assistance from one trainer. Anderson sustained a bruised chest. Church suffered a concussion and sore jaw and it was reported that he could not remember anything that happened during the collision.

Carlos Delgado flew back to New York to have an MRI on his hip that has been bothering him. He originally injured it last year in the middle of a swing.
