We Won!

The Mets finally won a game this year and for the first time since last year. It was also the first game I watched. I love being able to watch baseball again.

The game was not very exciting in the action part. It was scoreless until the bottom of the ninth. It ended with a bases loaded HBP. I was very happy when Mike Nickeas came into the game. I know he will most likely not be in the majors for quite a while if he ever is in the majors. The best part was just seeing him get some game action. He struck out in his only at bat.

David Wright also was hit less in 3 at bats. When Gary and Keith were talking about David's fielding and his Gold Glove he shows them exactly why he won it. He makes a great barehanded play on a slow roller on the line.

Jonathon Niese pitched very well. He went two solid innings without giving up a hit. Then Robert Parnell pitched well also. It looks like the Mets have a bright future in the pitching area. (Which is good because they seem short on it right now).

In the fourth inning Ryan Church and Marlon Anderson collided in short right field trying catch a pop fly. Marlon walked off the field with his own power while Church needed assistance from one trainer. Anderson sustained a bruised chest. Church suffered a concussion and sore jaw and it was reported that he could not remember anything that happened during the collision.

Carlos Delgado flew back to New York to have an MRI on his hip that has been bothering him. He originally injured it last year in the middle of a swing.

Let's Go Mets!
