The Mets Make A Move

According to the afternoon entertainment (who will remain nameless) on WFAN, the Mets have come to a contract agreement with Jason Bay and the signing should be official next week, after he takes a physical.

It's good to know the Mets can sign players that have no interest in playing here but can't bother to make an offer to the guy who desperately wanted play here.

Ah well.
Let's Go Mets!

I'm glad you refused to name he who shall remain nameless. There are a lot of us who feel that way. LOL.

I google Jason Bay Bad Move and your site was like 4th or 5th. I think this is a bad move. I'd rather have defense and speed there. I hope those fly balls don't end up on the warning track.

I like Mike even though he's a Yankee fan. haha.

Welcome to the blog, to you both!

Mike Francesa definitely knows how to get listeners and somehow he got the right to announce this news. The Mets definitely wanted to get the news out before season ticket decisions had to be made and apparently nobody was around to make a more official announcement coming from the club. But I kinda wish they had Joe and Evan announce it, as Mets fans.

The move seems good to me. At least for the near future. He will give the Mets power and his defense isn't that bad. The Mets defense and speed should come from 2nd base, which isn't usually a power position.
